Paul Ryan budget not as bad as originally thought… it’s worse!

Apparently, Paul Ryan’s behind-closed-doors meetings with Nancy Pelosi regarding the budget deal have paid off. Not only do we have the type of legislation loved by the California Democrat—a bill so big that you have to pass it to find…

Boehner is gone – On to McConnell!

Hallelujah! John Boehner is stepping down! Now it’s time to re-channel our efforts and kick Mitch McConnell’s sorry butt out of his cushy position as the leader in the Senate. Make no mistake! Mickey is just as hostile—if not more so—toward the Conservative movement. Before last year’s election giving McConnell and Boehner a GOP Congress that they promised would bring an end to Obama’s radical, freedom-killing, socialist agenda, McConnell had already cuts a series of deals with Barry to fund Obamacare, raise the debt ceiling, and raise taxes. During the 2014 elections in 2014, McConnell openly declared war on Conservatives and T.E.A. Party Republicans. Since his selection as the Majority Leader in January McConnell has given Obama pretty much everything he wanted, including: fully funding executive amnesty, confirming Loretta “Eric Holder 2.0” Lynch as attorney general, working to rescue the Export-Import Bank, dropping the ball with the Iranian nuke deal, and doing all he can to fully fund Planned Parenthood’s baby-slaughtering operations in the current budget battle. Mickey’s established record has even prompted a senior Republican official to call for McConnell’s resignation. Calling the Kentucky senator “a good and honorable man”—a sentiment I would strongly disagree with—Roger Villere, the chairman […]

General Patton would hate Mitch McConnell

General George Patton once said: “Lead me, follow me, or get out of my way.” I wish he was alive today so that he could deliver that message in person to Gutless On Principles (GOP) Hall of Shame member Mitch McConnell. In a recent Elizabethtown Rotary Club meeting, McConnell demonstrated his total lack of ability to lead, follow, or get out of the way when he told attendees that he expects to maintain but not grow the Republican majority in the U.S. Senate, calling the chances of gaining seats “pretty slim” because Republicans are defending 24 seats while the Democrats only have 10 to defend. How pathetic. Unfortunately, based on his display of absolute spinelessness and ineptitude, Mickey is probably overstating his chances. Last month we learned that the McConnell-led senate has passed nearly every bill with at least 93% Democrat support. In other words, he’s passing legislation with more Democrat votes than Republican. McConnell helped fund Obama’s unconstitutional Executive Amnesty, supported the budget-busting “doc fix,” and helped confirm Obama’s extreme left-wing judicial and administration nominees, including the confirmation of Eric Holder 2.0, Loretta Lynch. McConnell vowed to repeal Obamacare “root and branch,” to use spending bills to defund Obama’s […]

Obamacare study confirms Obama’s economic failures

A few days ago, I shared how Obama likes to massage data to make it look like his economic policies are working. Unemployment rate goes down? It’s not because people are finding jobs. Instead, it’s because their unemployment benefits have run out or they have become so discouraged from not finding a job that they have abandoned looking for a job. Meanwhile, food stamp usage has climbed to record highs because those same people are forced to rely on government handouts in order to eat and survive. Now we learn from a new study that Obamacare is supplying another piece of the Obamanomics puzzle that prove how the administration is manipulating data to hide his failure. According to the study by Families USA, one in four people who bought health insurance on their own couldn’t afford needed care — despite data that shows how Obamacare reduced the ranks of the uninsured. “Simply having health insurance is no guarantee that consumers can afford to pay for health care,” the study says. “Health insurance involves different types of costs that consumers must pay out-of-pocket — ranging from a health plan’s deductible to copayments at a doctor’s office. These expenses add up, and […]

Mitch McConnell yields Senate control to Harry Reid

If you thought the election in November seized the reins of control from Harry Reid and the Democrats and placed then in the hands of Republicans determined to stop Obama, I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news for you. According to a recent story on Breitbart News: “with two minor exceptions, every single vote that has passed the U.S. Senate since the beginning of this Congress in January has passed with at lease 93% of support from Democrats.” Despite controlling the Senate, Republicans leaders are passing bills that have more support from Democrats than Republicans. While there are bills that should have that kind of Democrat support–such as legislation in the areas of Veteran’s Affairs, anti-pornography, and human trafficking–Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has helped the Democrats pass funding for Obama’s unconstitutional executive amnesty, pass the deficit-exploding “doc fix” for Medicare, and confirm Obama’s liberal judicial and administrative nominees such as Loretta Lynch. Needless to say, Harry Reid is pretty happy with the way things have panned out under McConnell: “While Republicans have done nothing to create jobs and help the middle class, on other topics like passing clean funding for Homeland Security and confirming Loretta Lynch, Senator McConnell has […]

Republicans prepare to pass Obamacare Lite

Do you remember when Gutless On Principles (GOP) Hall of Shame enshrinee Mitch McConnell said Obamacare was “a job-killer,” “too expensive,” and will do “colossal damage” to the economy? Do you remember how he promised to pull it out “root and branch” and “start over?” If not, you can be forgiven because apparently he doesn’t remember saying it either. As we approach the decision by the Supreme Court on whether or not federal subsidies paid to states that declined to set up insurance exchanges violated the Affordable Care Act (King v. Burwell), the McConnell-led Senate appears ready to provide the subsidies in a Republican in a type of “Obamacare Lite.” Here’s how it looks like it’s going down. If the Supremes interpret the Affordable Care Act literally, it will compel the federal government to end subsidy payments to millions of Obamacare beneficiaries. This would result in higher insurance costs—even higher than consumers are already seeing WITH Obamacare—and an increase in the number of uninsured. Now, the Republican cowards in Congress have been counting on the courts to do this job for them ever since the un-Affordable Care Act became law. So a court decision repealing these subsidies would be good […]

GOP cowards hide behind terrorists and cave on amnesty

Following the Republican “can’t we all just get along?” retreat, Senate Majority Leader and Gutless On Principles (GOP) Hall of Shame member Mitch McConnell informed House Republicans that they should lower their expectations concerning the bill passed in the House of Representatives that funds the Department of Homeland Security, but defunds Obama’s illegal amnesty order. Why? Because he doesn’t have 60 votes in the Senate. His reason may sound valid, but it not true. It takes 60 votes to end a filibuster for non-budget business, but it only takes a simple majority to pass a budget. So, why would McConnell say something that simply isn’t true? Well, if he can blame something “outside his control” for not getting something done, he can’t be held responsible. In other words, he’s a spineless coward with zero leadership skills, and a track record of surrendering in the face of victory. I’d call him a jellyfish, but that would be an insult to aquatic life. But fear not. The RINOs who run the party are about to let McConnell off the hook for an entirely different reason. Moderate Mediocre Republicans in both the Senate and the House leadership are using the recent terror threat on the U.S. Capitol as the […]

Republican cowards vote to keep John Boehner as Speaker

Well, as many predicted, Rep. John Boehner (R-INO OH) was re-elected as Speaker of the House, but it wasn’t without a fight. Twenty-five brave patriots stood up to the Washington Republican machine to say NO to business as usual. Unfortunately, they were vastly outnumbered by the cowards masquerading as Conservatives. In my home district in Colorado, Rep. Ken Buck—who was elected Republican Freshman Class President back in November—was all too eager to add his name to the spineless brigade. In an interview on the Amy Oliver show on 1310KFKA, Buck was all too eager to explain his vote for Boehner to guest host Nancy Rumfeld. He said quite a bit, so let me summarize his lame attempt to justify his actions… HE’S A LIAR! Candidate Ken Buck made several promises to change America’s destiny in several areas: immigration, energy, and healthcare to name a few. Yet, when presented with the opportunity to begin keeping those promises, he chose to stick with the party’s power brokers and maintain the status quo by voting for the man who bragged about how he joined forces with Obama to pass a budget that fully funded the government for the next year, and by default, Obama’s Constitution-killing agenda. Ken Buck ran […]

Gas prices are down, so hold on to your wallets!

Almost right on queue, the liberals are coming out of the woodwork—the “pest” reference is deliberate—to announce that it’s time for you and I to step up to the plate and hand over more of our money. Joining a growing movement, an opinion piece by the Denver Post Editorial Board details how the recent bout of dropping fuel prices presents the perfect opportunity to raise gas tax rates in order to help the country’s neglected highway systems. They give the following reasons: Most forecasters, including the federal government, say that lower gas prices are likely to continue. And as we all know, when the government makes a projection, they always get it right. *cough* Obamacare *cough* Current gas prices should make this the perfect time for Americans and politicians—I guess they’re saying politicians aren’t Americans, which is actually pretty close to accurate—to agree to pay the piper and raise the tax. Ah yes, the old “paying taxes is the American thing to do.” I’m surprised they didn’t drag out Joe Biden’s old “paying more taxes is patriotic.” The pain from raising gas taxes now will be less obvious than when gas was over $3. I guess basic math escapes the geniuses on the Denver Post Editorial Board. […]

Conservatives must resolve to rise up in 2015

Happy 2015 America! New Year’s day is often a time of reflection for the year just gone while also being a time to set goals for the new year just begun. Looking back on 2014, Conservatives had a decent year. Most notably, the part we played in the historic landslide election that resulted in the removal of Harry “The Henchman” Reid from his lofty position as the Senate Majority Leader when we helped the Republican party retake control of the Senate. We also helped increase the number of Republicans in the House of Representatives. Clearly, we played a significant role in electing a Congress that can stop Obama’s runaway socialistic agenda. But alas, this came with ugly consequences. During the primaries, Gutless On Principles (GOP) Hall of Shame member Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-INO KY) joined forces with fellow member Rep. John Boehner (R-INO OH) in a declaration of war against the same conservative groups that gave them their newfound power. And that was just the beginning. Another Gutless On Principles (GOP) Hall of Shame enshrinee, Sen. John McCain (R-INO AZ), has created a political machine that has as its only objective the elimination of the T.E.A. Party and other conservative groups in that state. A rather ironic objective considering […]

Vote NO on John Boehner for House Speaker

Gutless On Principles (GOP) Hall of Shame member John Boehner (R-INO OH) has had a very busy job since the election. So far, he conspired with Obama to fund Barry’s executive amnesty, lied about defunding Obamacare, and led the charge in passing a bill granting the NSA unlimited authority to spy on Americans without a warrant. As we look at his job “performance” since November, Conservatives are rightly asking the question: where do we go from here? One great place to start would be to do all we can to make sure he isn’t the Speaker of the House for the next two years. Although the media and their inside-the-beltway buddies want you to think he has already been elected Speaker for the 114th Congress, that is simply not true. So far, he has only been nominated for the job. The actual vote doesn’t take place until January. So, is it possible to kick his sorry butt to the “former-speaker” curb along with Nancy Pelosi? Absolutely! All we need to keep Boehner from re-election is 30 Conservatives to vote NO! Can it make a difference? Is it possible to do? According to an article by Erick Erickson on RedState.com, it’s not […]

Obama provides incentives to hire illegals over Americans – GOP does nothing!

When added to the disastrous Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. Obamacare), Obama’s unconstitutional Executive Order granting amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants just made things a lot worse for Americans looking for a job—and even those who have a job—thanks to a loophole in the Obamacare law that creates an incentive for employers to hire illegals over legal citizens. According to an article in The New American, the incentive for employers to hire illegal immigrants over legal residents, including native-born citizens, is due to the regulation found in Obamacare law that deals with the requirement by employers to offer “affordable, adequate” healthcare coverage or be fined $3000 a year for each full-time worker getting a premium tax credit. The premium tax credit is offered directly to individuals not offered coverage through an employer and who have applied to purchase insurance through the federal Health Insurance Marketplace. Under Obamacare rules, coverage is considered “unaffordable” if the employee needs to contribute more than 9.5% of their family income to employer coverage. Coverage is deemed “inadequate” if the insurance doesn’t pay for at least 60% of healthcare costs. When Obama’s amnesty for illegals is combined with this rule, the loophole is created. Since these illegal immigrants who have been granted the right […]

Chuck Schumer feeling remorse over Obamacare? Not really!

Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY) said yesterday that his party made a mistake when they passed Obama’s healthcare law (Affordable Care Act – a.k.a. Obamacare) in 2010 instead of focusing more on helping the middle class: “Unfortunately, Democratws blew the opportunity the American people gave them” when electing Obama and a Democrat Congress in 2008 amid a recession, Schumer said in a speech in Washington. “We took their mandate and put all our foucs on the wrong problem—healthcare reform.” Well, duh! After this “startling” admission (that’s sarcasm folks), Schumer went on to say that he opposed the timing of the Obamacare vote, but he was overruled by other members of the party. Wait a minute! The #3 member of the Democrat party allowed his concerns to be overruled? Well, in the words of the Church Lady… It’s just so swell that Schumer is apparently feeling remorse over his part in passing a piece of legislation that will single-handedly bring down the very middle class he claims to be so concerned about. A Congressional Budget Office report estimated last year that over 20 million Americians stand to lose their employer-provided healthcare. Also last year, a study by the University of Chicago (The Affordable Care […]

Lindsey Graham’s empty threat of impeachment

Earlier this year, Gutless On Principles (GOP) Hall of Shame member, and rumoured presidential candidate, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-INO SC) threatened President Barack Hussein Obama with impeachment if he continued to release terrorist detainees from the military prison facility located at Guantanamo Bay without first receiving explicit approval from Congress. At the time Graham made his threat, he stated that “it’s going to be impossible for (him) to flow prisoners out of Gitmo now without a huge backlash… There will be people on our side calling for his impeachment if he did that.” Apparently, Barry is calling his bluff, because this past Thursday—the same day that Barry gave the finger to Congress with his Executive Order granting amnesty to millions of illegal aliens—he released five more terror detainees from Gitmo, including four Al Qaeda fighters. While we wait for a response from Senator Graham’s office, other Republican lawmakers who have been pressing Obama to cease releasing detainees amid reports that some of these former prisoners have not only returned to their terrorist ways, but they have joined the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). One of those Republican lawmakers was Congressman Buck McKeon, the outgoing House Armed Services Committee Chairman: “If just one U. S. soldier loses their life over these (releases), we will […]

November 20, 2014 – The day the Constitution died

November 20, 2014 – the day the Constitution died. As a result of Obama’s Hitleresque Executive Order giving millions of Democrat voters—a.k.a. illegal immigrants—a free ride to citizenship via his promise not to prosecute them for breaking the law, the Constitution was essentially shot and killed today. And nobody tried to save her. Yeah, we were gullible enough to actually believe Republicans meant it when they said they would stop Obama’s unconstitutional agenda if we would just put them in charge. Yet, even before today’s assassination—but after they stole our vote on November 4th—the so-called leaders of the new Congress, along with GOP presidential hopefuls, went on record to say that they won’t use their Constitutional authority to stop him. Oh, they’ll stomp their feet like a petulant child, just like they have with every other unconstitutional action Obama has taken. They’ll tell you how they are weighing every option as they complain about how the President doesn’t play by the rules. They’ll talk about how the policy is simply bad politics, and they’ll use unflattering terms like “poisoning the well” and “it’s like waving a red flag in front of a bull“—an interesting choice of words, but maybe appropriate. When you consider the bullsh*t being dished […]

2016 Race for the White House – Conservatives need not apply

On Monday, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie spoke to the Republican’s newest member of Congress, encouraging them to embrace compromise and common ground when they convene for business in January. While specifically avoiding the immigration issue, particularly Obama’s threat to issue an Executive Order granting amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants, he alluded to those in attendance that shutting the government down over the issue was not a good idea. He reinforced this position today in a meeting with GOP governors. When asked in a FOX News interview about Obama’s inevitable Executive Order, Senator Rob Portman—sounding an awful lot like Harry Reid—called for the new GOP majority to “disarm and work together.” On the Sunday talk shows, Mitt Romney also chimed in on the topic of Obama’s threat, saying that the GOP shouldn’t push the issue to the point of a government shutdown. And even T.E.A. Party favorite Bobby Jindal has officially come down on the side of compromise if Obama once again snubs his nose at the Constitution. Now, what do these individuals have in common? They are all considered GOP frontrunners for the White House in 2016. And why does it sound like they are all singing out of […]

Six energy policy changes to watch for in a Republican-controlled Congress

Now that the dust has settled on the 2014 midterms, we can get a sense of how things will change in Washington under a Republican controlled Senate—and energy will be front and center. Republicans and Democrats have very different views on energy development and policy. The past six years have seen taxpayer dollars poured into green-energy projects that have embarrassed the administration and promoted teppan-style renewables that chop-up and fry unsuspecting birds mid-flight and increase costs for consumers and business. Meanwhile, Republicans have touted the job creation and economic impact available through America’s abundant fossil-fuel resources. Voters made their preference clear: Republicans won more seats, and with bigger majorities, than anyone predicted. The day after the election, the Friends of the Earth, wasting no time, sent out a dramatic fundraising pitch, opening with: “The election’s over—the planet lost.” (You may not have even known that the planet was on your local ballot, but apparently it was.) The email’s proclamation, once again, exposes the environmentalists’ agenda: “President Obama hasn’t always done the right thing for the environment. He should have denied the Keystone Pipeline years ago, he should be rolling back unchecked fracking, and he should have taken stronger action on climate […]
