Christie prosecutes, pillories Hillary

It’s easy to believe that Chris Christie was a US prosecutor in a previous career before politics. His prosecution speech Tuesday night at the Republican National Convention was intended, as Brit Hume put it, to rip the skin off of Hillary Clinton. If that was the goal, Gov. Christie succeeded. Early in his speech, Gov. […]

Trump-Cruz fight helping Rubio?

Chris Stirewalt writes in this article that Donald Trump is intent on re-litigating the results of the Iowa Caucuses. Stirewalt’s conclusion is that “if [Mr. Trump] doesn’t stop re-litigating Iowa, he could find that his next bunch of sour grapes will be of the Concord variety.” Meanwhile, Rick Tyler has let himself get trapped inside […]

NSA spying worse thanks to help from AT&T

Do you remember Edward Snowden? He’s the former CIA contractor who exposed Patriot Act abuses by the National Security Agency (NSA) in 2013 where they were spying on our electronic communications without a warrant. Do you remember how outraged Republicans like Rep. Peter King, Senator John McCain and Senator Lindsey Graham were after the revelations; not at the NSA, but at Snowden for letting America know about the disregard of our constitutional rights? And do you remember how we were told by many of these same Republicans that the NSA wasn’t actually listening to our calls or reading our emails? Well, guess what… National Security Agency documents recently provided to the New York Times and ProPublica by Snowden reveal that AT&T has provided valuable assistance to the NSA that enhanced the agency’s ability to spy on Internet traffic. The NYT and ProPublica (an independent non-profit newsroom) jointly reviewed the documents supplied by Snowden and published their findings simultaneously. The most significant finding expanded on what has long been known — that American telecommunications companies have worked closely with the NSA. The agency’s relationship with AT&T, however, is considered unique and especially productive. One of the source documents reviewed by the […]

Mitt Romney defends Obama while attacking Ted Cruz

On Tuesday, Senator and presidential candidate Ted Cruz (R-TX) had this to say about Obama’s deal with Iran: “If this deal is consummated, it will make the Obama administration the world’s leading financier of radical Islamic terrorism. Billions of dollars under the control of this administration will flow into the hands of jihadists who will use that money to murder Americans, to murder Israelis, to murder Europeans.” Not much to argue about, right? So you’d think a “severe conservative” like Mitt Romney would support Cruz for taking a strong conservative stand against the nuclear ambitions of a terrorist nation. Well… while the former Republican presidential candidate says he’s opposed to the Iran deal, he is attacking the current presidential candidate for his criticism of the agreement. I am opposed to the Iran deal, but @SenTedCruz is way over the line on the Obama terrorism charge. Hurts the cause. — Mitt Romney (@MittRomney) July 30, 2015 Maybe Mittens should spend a few of his millions to buy a clue. In a recent CNN interview, National Security Adviser Susan Rice admitted the Obama deal will give Iran access to up to $150 billion to spend as it wishes and would do nothing […]

Chris Christie immigration policy: Tough on employers – easy on illegals

RINO presidential candidate Chris Christie made his policy on illegal immigration a bit more clear in a recent CNN interview. Secure the border? Nah. End Obama’s pathway to citizenship? Nope! In fact, he approves of Obama’s actions because Congress hasn’t acted — which means, by default, that he isn’t opposed to abusing executive authority to get around Congress. Increase deportations? As they would say in Jersey, Fuggedaboudit. Much like fellow RINO and presidential candidate Jeb Bush, and Obama himself for that matter, Christie thinks punishing America, or more specifically American businesses, is the way to stem the tide of illegals entering the country. According the governor from New Jersey, government should target employers that hire illegals instead of the illegals themselves. “We’ve got to penalize employers who hire people who are here illegally. The fact is that shouldn’t happen and it’s exploiting American workers.” “But in addition to that, it’s exploiting many of those people who are here illegally because they’re being paid less money. So we need to make bigger fines to make sure that those employers who violate the law are being held accountable.” I guess it could work. If you make “bigger fines” the law, it will […]

Chris Christie seeks RINO nomination for president

We already have Lindsey Graham, Jeb Bush, and George Pataki representing the batch of East Coast RINOs looking to be the official loser of the GOP in 2016. Now we have the Fourth Horseman of the Republican Apocalypse seeking the nomination to be President of the United States. Offering himself as a sort of “Bridgegate” over politically troubled waters, Chris Christie made it official in a speech to a crowd gathered at the high school he once called home. Below are some of the statements he made, along with my comments: 1. “Americans are not angry, they are filled with anxiety.” Wrong! I’m angry about RINOs such as yourself who act more like Democrats in order to protect their jobs. I’m angry that RINOs such as yourself like to say one thing to get my vote, and then do the opposite once in office. Make no mistake about it: I’m not anxious, I’m ticked! 2. “Both parties have failed our country” by refusing to work together. “If Washington and Adams and Jefferson had believed compromise was a dirty word, we’d still be under the crown of England.” This is right, and wrong. He’s right about both parties failing the country, […]

Walker solidifies Iowa lead

According to Quinnipiac’s latest polling, Scott Walker’s lead in Iowa appears to be solidifying: Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is the top dog with a big early lead in the Iowa Republican Caucus, with a four-way scramble for second place and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush in seventh place with 5 percent, according to a Quinnipiac […]

Deciphering TWS’s unscientific poll

After reading Daniel Halper’s article, it’s clear that there isn’t a clear Republican frontrunner. Still, the unscientific poll is helpful. Here’s the results of TWS’ unscientific poll: Scott Walker–mentioned on 44% of the ballots as either first, second or third choice; first choice on 18%. Thus, 44/18. Ted Cruz–35/16. Ben Carson–26/10. Mitt Romney–24/12. Bobby Jindal–20/3. […]

Conservatives must resolve to rise up in 2015

Happy 2015 America! New Year’s day is often a time of reflection for the year just gone while also being a time to set goals for the new year just begun. Looking back on 2014, Conservatives had a decent year. Most notably, the part we played in the historic landslide election that resulted in the removal of Harry “The Henchman” Reid from his lofty position as the Senate Majority Leader when we helped the Republican party retake control of the Senate. We also helped increase the number of Republicans in the House of Representatives. Clearly, we played a significant role in electing a Congress that can stop Obama’s runaway socialistic agenda. But alas, this came with ugly consequences. During the primaries, Gutless On Principles (GOP) Hall of Shame member Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-INO KY) joined forces with fellow member Rep. John Boehner (R-INO OH) in a declaration of war against the same conservative groups that gave them their newfound power. And that was just the beginning. Another Gutless On Principles (GOP) Hall of Shame enshrinee, Sen. John McCain (R-INO AZ), has created a political machine that has as its only objective the elimination of the T.E.A. Party and other conservative groups in that state. A rather ironic objective considering […]

Politically Incorrect look back at the Barack Obama-Chris Christie friendship! (Photos)

2012 Presidential Campaign Flashback!

Many thought that Governor Chris Christie and President Obama seemed overly friendly during the President’s tour of the damage done to the Jersey Shore by Hurricane Sandy.
It was also felt by some that this show of affection may have contributed to Mitt Romney losing the election.

Examining these (politically incorrect) photos, however, it turns out President Obama and Chris Christie were childhood friends!

First, We Shoot the Bureaucrats

With all due respect to Will Shakespeare, although lawyers are part of the bureaucratic cancer, the Veterans Administration’s mishandling of veteran’s medical needs, leading to the deaths of around a hundred, (and counting), points to a killer cancer far more insidious than the vanity and arrogance normally associated with theRead More

Conservative Comedy 4/4/14

It’s time for some Conservative Comedy at the Strident Conservative. As I do every Friday, I bring you some of the best Conservative political satire on the internet, sure to provide a good laugh to begin your weekend. These days, when VP Joe Biden speaks, all we can do is laugh. Only it’s not really a happy “ha-ha” laugh, but rather a really disturbing and slightly psychotic-sounding laugh of the type which makes crops wither and die in the fields, cattle go barren, and causes terrified neighbors to bolt their doors and sow salt across their thresholds. An example of this comes from a recent speech where Uncle Joe addressed the US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and declared that in his view, the eleven million illegal aliens living in the shadows are “already American citizens.” Well, that’s certainly a time saver! Why bother with pesky details like laws, borders, or immigration agencies when citizenship can just be passed out for free like “Yes We Can!” condoms at a middle school? This is an assault on the very meaning of “citizenship,” and an insult to every man, women, and child who is in this country legally. As the Conservative Comic at Hope n’ Change points out, when Biden […]

Bobby Jindal’s school choice mission

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal’s passion for school choice is eloquently laid out in Gov. Jindal’s op-ed. First, Gov. Jindal makes the case against the status quo: In New York, Mayor Bill de Blasio has embarked on a systematic campaign to destroy the city’s burgeoning charter school movement. He’s diverting more than $200 million in funding […]

Christie’s Bridgegate just as bad as Obama scandals

It’s been a week now since Chris Christie was forced to face the scandal that has come to be known as “Bridgegate.” And as the dust from this political payback has settled, heads have rolled and top people within his administration have been terminated thrown under the bus of political expediency. During the post-mortem of these events, an interesting colloquy has been developing within Conservative circles. From talk radio to FOX news, talking heads have expressed very little concern over Bridgegate. Instead, they seem to be more interested in how the media is “over-reporting” the Christie scandal while essentially ignoring Obama’s scandals et al. And while media bias and/or hypocrisy is a legitimate gripe, it misses the seriousness of Bridgegate. And it ends up providing the same kind of cover for Christie that they deplore in the mainstream media when they cover for Obama. Bridgegate is just as bad as any of Obama’s scandals. Just like Obama, Christie’s office engaged in political payback against his enemies. Just like Obama, he claims that he wasn’t aware of things until he read it in the newspaper. Just like Obama, the people responsible will be held accountable. “What I’ve seen today for the first time is unacceptable,” […]

After the previous show, sure… folks might think we’re talking about sex again, but no. The difference between Chris Christie and Barack Obama!

One says what he means and means what he says while the other is full of crap! Which is which?

Fast and Furious – Obama

As the Justice Department investigates how U.S. guns were allowed to flow illicitly into Mexico under the watchful eyes of federal agents, President Obama said today in an exclusive interview with ABC News that “people who have screwed up will be held accountable.” (Source)

Politically motivated bridge lane closing – Christie

“I am outraged and deeply saddened to learn that not only was I misled by a member of my staff, but this completely inappropriate and unsanctioned conduct was made without my knowledge. One thing is clear: this type of behavior is unacceptable and I will not tolerate it because the people of New Jersey deserve better. This behavior is not representative of me or my Administration in any way, and people will be held responsible for their actions.” (Source)
