California Seceeding? Don’t Make Ne Laugh!

The latest manifestation of butt hurt, crybaby lefties are threats from Democrat owned California to secede from the United States.

Here’s a sample of what the#neverTrumpers at Bloomberg have to say:

Immediately after the election, state Senate President Kevin de León and his Assembly counterpart, Anthony Rendon, both Latinos from Southern California, sent out a scathing statement in English and Spanish assuring all 39 million Californians that they were ready for political war. “Today, we woke up feeling like strangers in a foreign land, because yesterday Americans expressed their views on a pluralistic and democratic society that are clearly inconsistent with the values of the people of California,” they wrote. “We will lead the resistance to any effort that would shred our social fabric or our Constitution.”

With the largest economy in the U.S. and the sixth-largest in the world, the state enjoys greater independence from Washington than most. It was the first state to adopt its own vehicle emissions standards, in 2002. In 2012, California created the only state-level cap-and-trade system for limiting greenhouse gas emissions after Republicans in Congress rejected a national model. California, which has more undocumented immigrants than any other state, offers them driver’s licenses as well as financial aid for college. It has imposed some of the country’s strictest background checks on firearms purchases. It’s one of three states to provide paid family and medical leave and one of five that require employers to offer paid sick leave. “This is unlike anything we’ve seen in modern political history,” says de León. “We’re going to do everything in our power to protect our people and our values as Californians.”

State Democrats say there’s plenty they can do short of leaving the U.S. California has long been a net contributor to Washington’s coffers, receiving an estimated 78¢ in federal spending in return for every dollar it sends, according to a study by the Washington-based Tax Foundation, a nonprofit think tank that provides analysis of federal and state tax policies. That gives state leaders potential leverage when it comes to complying with policies it doesn’t like, starting with the deportation of undocumented immigrants.

From January 2014 to September 2015, California released immigrants considered deportable under federal law in more than 11,000 instances, rather than keeping them in custody for federal agents, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement data obtained by the Texas Tribune. The next state on the list, New York, released people in fewer than 2,000 cases.

The article’s certainly correct about that last part. One of these ‘immigrants’ they refused to hold for ICE (let’s be more honest than Bloomberg and call them illegal migrants instead) was a career criminal murdered Kate Steinle in San Francisco. And that’s after he was deported five times.

 http://cdn.abclocal.go.com/content/kgo/images/cms/825700_630x354.jpg

Let’s examine this bolshoi in detail, shall we?

The reason for the uproar among California Democrats has nothing to do with values. It has to do with maintaining their political power. California is a solid blue state today simply because the electorate was deliberately changed by the state’s Democrats using a combination of open borders, extremely generous social welfare benefits and high taxation to pay for it that caused a lot of the sort of people who used to vote Republican to leave the state.

California, which has the largest population of illegal migrants in America is arguably the easiest state in the union to commit voter fraud in. Democrat President Clinton’s ‘voter-motor’ legislation automatically registers to vote anyone getting a driver’s license or registering a vehicle who checks a box asking to be registered to vote. California changed that slightly by automatically registering them to vote unless they checked a box asking not to be registered to vote.

The state gives driver’s licenses to illegal migrants and not only does it not check immigration status, but it allows illegal migrants to obtain California driver’s licenses with a matricula consular card issued by one of the numerous Mexican consulates in the state as their only identification. Needless to say, the consulates don’t check anyone’s data too closely, and if there’s a problem, $50 0r $100 cash to the right clerk will get you a matricula consular ID with any name or details you want.

The state has no voter ID laws at all, and a recent Univision poll that the station quickly suppressed and took off the internet showed that a third of the respondents who admitted to being in California illegally also admitted they had voted. And why wouldn’t they? There’s nothing stopping them, they’re duly registered and the president of the United States encouraged them to vote in the last election!

So now you know exactly why many California Democrats are up in arms over actually enforcing our immigration laws. And a big part of what’s behind the recent secession fervor.

Right now, as I write this there’s an organized group submitting a proposed ballot measure to the state attorney general’s office for a 2018 vote.

It’s unlikely to go anywhere for a number of reasons. The national Democrat party will fight it tooth and nail because without California, they lose two senate seats and 39 House seats, and they’re doomed to minority status forever. A large part of the state would likely refuse to leave the United States. And November 2018 would take place almost two years after President Trump takes office. A fair amount of those illegal migrant votes the proponents are counting on to shove this through will likely not be available by then. Finally, as we’ll see, the cost would likely bankrupt the state.

But just for giggles, let’s assume it gets on the ballot, is put to a vote, and passes. How exactly would that work out for California?

As secession proponents are fond of repeating, the state is the world’s sixth largest economy and contributes $1 to the federal treasury for every 78 cents it receives in federal funding. What they aren’t looking at is the nature of what California contributes and where it comes from,or the nature of that federal spending.

California’s economy primarily derives from the fact that it can ship things like high tech and agricultural products to the rest of the United States tariff free and receive imports from the rest of America duty free. If the new nation/state of California expects to receive the same deal after a hostile secession, they’re kidding themselves.

Just imagine how quickly most of Silicon Valley would relocate faced with a 25% tariff on what it exports to the rest of America! Not only that, but things California now gets for free would be things the state would now have to finance, like defense, the Coast Guard, airport security, Medicare, MedicAid (that’s $15 billion for the exchange  alone) a merchant marine to ship its good overseas, various regulatory agencies…it’s a long and costly list.

Another thing secessionists aren’t calculating astounds me, given that it’s California we’re talking about…that divorces always cost money.

California has millions in Federal infrastructure. There are office buildings, highways, post offices, military bases, armories, dams, national parks, prisons, VA hospitals, communications networks and terminals, fire watching stations, and railroads among other things that the Federal government will rightly demand to be reimbursed for since they were paid for with federal funds.

Also, much of what California contributes to the federal treasury is in the form of taxes. This includes excise taxes on gasoline, communications, the internet, and all sorts of other things. A lot of this stuff would have to be imported to the new nation, and the cheapest and nearest source is Red America unless the new California government wants to enrage its powerful environmental lobby by drilling offshore near those pretty beaches. Setting up and oil or natural gas infrastructure is costly too. And so is importing it.

Californians thinking about whether to secede will be shocked at how much freedom from America is going to cost. That ratio of dollars paid out versus federal funds received would change really quickly.

The socialist coastal elites have been running – almost wrote ruining, Freudian slip- California for some time now. You won’t get any argument out of me that they’re insane. Whether they’re crazy enough for this, especially since a lot of their tax base – the folks that aren’t working for state and local governments would move away to avoid the inevitable sky high taxes that would result  is anyone’s guess. Mine would be no, but like I said we’re not dealing with rational people here.

The Daily Show’s Ratings Collapse With Trevor Noah

Getty Images

With the ‘Daily Show,’ Comedy Central figured they had a gold mine, at least compared with a lot of their other shows. With Jon Stewart leaving, the suits figured, ‘Let’s keep the same basic forma, but let’s just get another Left wing ideologue to host it. Oh hey, I know, how about a black guy? We’ll certainly keep Stewart’s 1% share at least.’

Except Jon Stewart was at least funny, even if you knew he was full of it. That ‘new guy’ Trevor Noah is about as funny as watching a partial birth abortion.

His ratings after his first week of taking over have cratered, even with all the media buildup and a hot presidential race going on that should have boosted ratings.

Despite all the free hype from every corner of the left-wing national media, Noah bombed during his first week with an average of just 1.02 million viewers. That’s down a breathtaking -33% from this same time last year. And at this same time last year we were not in the middle of a historic presidential election delivering all-time high cable news ratings during the debates.

The best news is that young people have abandoned the show in droves. Among teens, the “Daily Show” ratings are down an incredible -59%, from 56k average viewers to just 23k.

Trevor Noah sucks. Everyone knows it. He’s a left-wing extremist like self-proclaimed socialist Jon Stewart, but Noah has no talent. He’s creating the GOP-hating content the national media desperately desire, but the content is so bad, the media isn’t re-running it endlessly.

When CNN isn’t using your left-wing propaganda, you suck like nothing ever sucked in the history of suck.

I had a feeling things were headed this way when Noah’s history of anti-semitic and misogynist tweets and remarks first surfaced.Even a lot of the Left can’t stand him.

It’s gotten so bad,he’s been reduced to recycling Dave Chappele’s material and trying to play the race card for sympathy, whining “America suffers from a level of institutionalized racial segregation” and that he never thought he’d be more afraid of police in America than in South Africa.

Now, here’s a hint, Mr. Noah, If I felt that way, I’d be on the next plane back there. I mean, why make a living of evil American dollars from a bunch of racists?

The good part in all this is that apparently only true believers are swallowing his schtick…and not very many of them.

Yes, The Iranians Are ‘Self Inspecting’ Their Sites – Not The IAEA

One of the main talking points proponents of the Iranian nuclear deal have repeated endlessly was the strict inspections and verification involved. Today, we have an excellent example of how that’s going to work, courtesy of the AP.

The chief of the UN nuclear agency insisted Monday that a probe of a suspected nuclear weapons research site in Iran does meet strict agency standards, while acknowledging that Iranian experts provided samples from the site for analysis.

Such sampling is usually done by the International Atomic Energy Agency’s own experts. But IAEA chief Yukiya Amano told reporters that Iranians carried out that part of the probe at Parchin, where the agency suspects that explosive triggers for nuclear weapons might have been tested.

But wait a minute! According to Amano, the samples were gathered “under established procedures” with the Iranians monitored by video and still cameras as they gathered the samples.

Who does he think was running the cameras and taking the pictures? It certainly wasn’t the IAEA. With this sort of ‘procedure’ in place, Iranians don’t even have to go to the trouble of doctoring photos and editing videos…or even actually taking photos and video at Parchin itself. They could be from anywhere, even from a mocked up ‘Parchin’ site. How would anyone know except the Iranians?

It gets better. Amano was taken to Parchin on what the Iranians termed ‘a ceremonial tour’ for one day. Even he acknowledged that there’s been a cleanup:

Amano spoke a day after he was taken on what Iranian media described as a ceremonial tour of the military site. He told reporters in Vienna that he was able to enter a building that the agency had been observing via satellite and saw signs of “recent renovation work.”

He appeared to be referring to the building where the agency suspects that weapons experiments were conducted. The agency has frequently said that subsequent renovation work at and near the building could hamper the IAEA probe, a position Amano repeated on Monday.

Parchin, by the way, is where the IAEA suspected that Iran was working on nuclear triggers.

This is the sort of inspection and verification we’ve heard so much about from President Obama and his minions that America is basing its national security on.

The Iran deal is guaranteed to do one thing…to give  Iran all the time, money and space they need to obtain nuclear weapons, beef up their military and foment terrorism in the region.

L.A. City Council Votes To Increase Unemployment, Destroy Tax Base

 http://cdn.breitbart.com/mediaserver/Breitbart/Breitbart-California/2014/05/12/Circus-Clowns-Waiting-Room-AP.png

Ah, Lah Lah Land! While it’s not quite the People’s Republic yet, it’s getting there fast, with a nice side order of corrupt banana republic.

Today, they voted 14-1 to increase the minimum wage to $15 an hour, joining Seattle, San Francisco and several other municipalities:

Los Angeles became the largest US city to raise its minimum wage to $15 an hour on Tuesday, as a wage increase bill passed the city council by a vote of 14-1.

It is now up to city attorney Mike Feuer to draft an ordinance to implement the new minimum wage requirements. The ordinance will then return to the council for a final vote before becoming law. Under the proposed legislation, the city’s minimum wage would increase to $10.50 in July 2016, and would increase incrementally every year until it reaches $15 in July 2020. For small businesses with 25 or fewer employees, the wage hike would come on a modified schedule with the incremental increases starting in July 2017 and the minimum wage reaching $15 by July 2021.

The current minimum wage in California is $9 an hour and is set to increase to $10 in January 2016.

The one no vote might have come from this guy, who before getting into politics was L.A’s nonsense police chief:

Council member Bernard Parks has previously expressed concern about $15 minimum wage leading to higher unemployment in the area.

“Every minimum wage increase that we’ve seen, if it’s too high, causes unemployment,” Parks told NPR in February. “If you have a big city like Los Angeles doing something, you’re going to find a lot of people will fall in line without any thought, because they believe that we’ve done the research. The fact is, we have not done the research.”

Proponents of the new law responded that they had done some research..from the Institute for Research on Labor Employment from University of California, Berkeley. And Berkeley, or Berserkely as we natives fondly refer to it, has a certain reputation in matters like these as some of you may know.

So, how will this new law effect Los Angeles? Believe it or not, a lot of the workers whom were egging the council on to pass this will end up far worse off.

The first thing that will happen is that lots of them will be fired. If you own a small business where you were paying people $12 an hour and you now are mandated to pay them $15 per hour so your bottom line costs go up 1/3, you’ll either raise your prices (which will cut into your business), cut your work force by 1/3 or both. Or you’ll move somewhere else.

San Francisco and Seattle, aside from their radical politics are both fairly small cities. San Francisco in particular is somewhat isolated on its little peninsula unless you take the ferries or pay toll to use the bridge, and it has the advantage of being a major tourist town. so it’s a lot easier to get away with this there, to an extent.

Los Angeles isn’t like that at all. It’s a large, heavily populated area clustered with smaller, independently incorporated cities like Glendale, Burbank, Torrance and Calabasas. All of them are thriving because they’ve avoided L.A’s ridiculous restrictions, costly permits and high taxes on business. The result is that when people start a business , lots of them do it outside Los Angeles unless it’s something like a franchised fast food restaurant like a McDonald’s where their location is mandated by the franchise. This does not do wonders for the city’s tax base.

Next, the ones that still have jobs will be introduced to the wonders of unsubsidized ObamaCare and life without food stamps, section 8 rent subsidies or earned income credit refunds on their federal taxes, because they will no longer qualify for them.

And finally, those of them whom work at jobs where tips are a big part of their income can largely forget about that. In Seattle and San Francisco, the new normal is ‘service charges’ and no tips. In Seattle, the service charges are running a hefty 18.5% at restaurants like Ivar’s and the Whale Wins. And no, the wait staff doesn’t get that, the restaurant does to offset that $15 per hour wage, although some restaurants might choose to share a portion of it with the help..who will now be taxed on every cent they receive. Or, since people will be eating out less because the service will deteriorate and the cost will be much higher, restaurants will need those service charges to stay in business. Yes, those waiters and waitresses who used to make more than their co-workers by hustling and taking good care of their customers will have absolutely no incentive to do so. Talk about penalizing hard work and enterprise!

I can just imagine how that’s going to work in a spread out, car friendly city like Los Angeles. People will eat out less, or they’ll travel outside the city limits to do it. One huge trend in the L.A. area is specialty food trucks featuring gourmet and ethnic cuisine, and I would expect them to get a lot more business as well, since they’re mostly small, family owned businesses.

I can hear the wheels turning in those of my reader’s heads with socialist leanings. “Why, we can just mandate it in all of L.A. County. Or in all of California! And why not a federal minimum wage law? No one will be able to avoid it then, bwah ha ha ha!”

Well, that’s the way it is in much of Europe. It hasn’t exactly worked out the way it was supposed to, and those legendary EU high unemployment benefits are already becoming a casualty out of sheer necessity, what with the double digit unemployment and all,

Here’s something to think about.

Minimum wage jobs were never intended to be careers. They were always intended to be one of two things. Either they were entry level positions, with the low starting salary a sort of compensation for the employer training you and taking a chance on someone without experience so that you could either move up where you were or find a better paying position as anexperie3nced worker elsewhere. Or they were a stopgap, a temporary situation designed to keep things together until you (a) got that big break (b) finished your schooling or training for something better or (c) were ready to move on somewhere else.

I’ve had such jobs before. My very first one, at age 15 was working at a gas station owned by a friend of my father’s after school . I swept up, pumped gas, checked oil and tires and even did the odd lube job or tire change.  I was absolutely thrilled to have it, even though I was paid in cash at slightly less than the minimum wage back then.Aside from being able to give my parents a little money, it meant I had money of my own to spend (there was no such thing as allowances in my house) , and it introduced me into the adult world of work and responsibility. That experience was one of the many things I have to thank my father (Z”l) for.

No, I never had to support a family on that. But then, it never would have occurred to me to  start a family I couldn’t support either.

Attempts like this to bypass economic man never really work. What you end up with collective misery and massive  corruption as people do what they need  to bypass the system and . Just talk to anyone who used to live in the Soviet Union.

Joe Biden To Ayaan Hirsi Ali: “Let me tell you one or two things about Islam.”

Author and speaker Ayaan Hirsi Ali is an outspoken advocate for freedom, a champion of women’s rights in Islam, and a perceptive critic of Islamism and Salafist Islam.

You might recall that she was supposed to receive an honorary degree from Brandeis University earlier this year but was ‘disinvited’ when Muslim Brotherhood fronts like CAIR and the Muslim Student’s Association pressured the university to caving in, a fairly hypocritical decision in view of some of the other people they’ve awarded these degrees to.

In a recent interview with the Washington Examiner, she explained that many westerners have no clue what goes on in many Islamic countries, and why she thought the Left was so protective of Islamist extremists:

“They feel all religions are the same, and they’re not,” she observed. “I think if I adopt the position in good faith to multiculturalists and leftists, I would say [they take the position they do] because they see them [Muslims] as victims. They see them as victims of the white man and so they think: ‘Let’s protect them from the white man. Let’s protect them from capitalism.’… That is misguided at best and malicious at worst.”

“Wherever [Islamists] gain power, you see exactly what they do: The first thing they do is they chase women out of the public space, force them to cover up, beat them up, rape them, sell them into slavery,” Hirsi Ali said.

She also revealed an amusing encounter with the man who’s just a heartbeat away from the White House, our current vice president Joe Biden: Hirsi Ali recalled meeting Vice President Joe Biden at a Washington event. He informed her that “ISIS had nothing to do with Islam.” When she disagreed with him, Biden actually responded: “Let me tell you one or two things about Islam.”

“I politely left the conversation at that,” Hirsi Ali said. “I wasn’t used to arguing with vice presidents.”

Our vice president has attempting to school someone on Islam who was raised a devout Muslim, lived in 3 Islamic countries, endured female genital mutilation when she was only 5, was a member of the female auxiliary of the Muslim Brotherhood and fled to the West to avoid a forced arranged marriage.

Anyone think she might know just a tiny bit more about Islam and radical Islam than Joe Biden?

This one’s even funnier than his remark during the ’08 vice presidential debates insisting that the U.S. had kicked Hezbollah out of Lebanon.

This would be even funnier except for the fact that Joe Biden, who spent his life on the Senate foreign affairs committee actually thinks he’s an authority on these matters…

Kerry: US Must Help Push ‘Real Islam’

http://cdn.frontpagemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Kerry-Era-of-Monroe-Doctrine-in-Latin-America-is-over.jpg

No, I’m not kidding…John Kerry’s ‘strategy’ for defeating the Islamic State involves proselytizing to push what he and his pals at the White House consider ‘real Islam.’

As I’m sure you know, both Kerry and President Obama have said that they don’t ‘consider ISIS Islamic.’

Here’s our Secretary of State at a roundtable discussion in Paris, still trying to build that so far illusory coalition:

” What this effort has to do is literally dry up the money, dry up the foreign fighters, prevent the foreign fighters from going home back to various places to do harm. It has to start major efforts to delegitimize ISIS’s claim to some religious foundation for what it’s doing and begin to put real Islam out there and draw lines throughout the region.

And I think this is a wake-up call with respect to that because every Arab leader there today was talking about this, about real Islam and how important the Friday sermons are and where they need to go. Those are critical components of this strategy. Getting logistics, airlift, putting humanitarian assistance in, flying it in, ammunition, equipment, training, advisers – all of these roles are the totality and you have to be able to describe this in a logistic way – in a holistic way.”

The ‘real Islam?’ I wonder if John Kerry has actually read the Qu’ran and seen what’s in there?

There’s nothing the Islamic State is doing that isn’t justified by a fairly straight forward reading of the Qu’ran and the Hadiths, the Muslim equivalent of the Gospels where Mohammed’s life, deeds and sayings as recounted by his closest followers. Not all Muslims would agree with that reading, but there are a significant number that would. And a lot of them have no problem with the Islamic State.

Believe it or not, Left wing Icon Bill Maher addressed this fairly well talking to PBS’s clueless Charlie Rose:

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State has a doctorate in Islamic studies from Baghdad University, one of the historic centers of Islamic learning and thought. He’s formulated the Islamic State’s ideology on what he and a lot of other people consider a legitimate reading of Islam.Do Kerry and Obama claim they understand what ‘real Islam’ is better than him?

For that matter, where do Kerry and President Obama get off talking about ‘real Islam’ when they support and fund a unity government that includes Hamas, whose beliefs are essentially the same as Islamic State’s?

Kerry’s State Department spokesmouth Maria Harf emphasized that just the other day, when she was asked about it.. “They’re different groups…They have different goals and different capabilities and different aims…

Needless to say, when she was asked what those differences might be, she simply responded, “I’m not going to get into the business of ranking terrorist organizations.”

When you have a President who’s on record saying that “I consider it part of my responsibility as president of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear” , you run into troublesome dichotomies like that. Some terrorists are OK, others are sort of borderline and some are..well, just not Islamic. Can’t tell who the players are without a scorecard.

I have to admit, I’m curious what Kerry and Obama have in mind to push this ‘real Islam.’ Dawa classes at your local public schools? Having U.S. and Eu taxpayers subsidize Wahhabi mosques at home and abroad? Free sets of flashcards, ‘This Is Islam, This Ain’t?’

Pathetic. And needless to say, outright useless because of its fundamental dishonesty.

Obama’s ‘Strategy’ – Arming Jihadis, Random Airstrikes, No Congressional Oversight

http://www.orthodoxytoday.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Obama_Dangerously_Incompetent_2010-02.png

President Obama is set to reveal his strategy on prime time tomorrow. Based on what’s being reported so far, it’s not only as bad as I predicted, it’s even worse.

The president apparently hasn’t learned from the mistakes he made previously. After covertly arming ISIS without consulting congress and creating the current mess, he now wants congress to exacerbate his folly by including a last minute authorization to arm ‘Syrian rebels’ in a must-pass spending bill that comes before the House tomorrow..with no oversight from congress on who gets the $5 billion he wants or how it gets spent.

By the way, this is yet another one of those continuing resolutions. The word ‘budget’ appears to be extinct, at least when it comes to the Obama Administration and the Democrat controlled senate.

Being President Obama, he has also tacked on partisan amendments to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank and an Internet tax measure. something hugely unpopular with most Republicans and even some Democrats, and for for good reason. That way, if the Republican controlled House refuses to pass this CR, or insists on more oversight and details, the president and his part can accuse them of ‘obstructing the fight against terrorism’ and spin this to blame them for his ineptness.

So we’re talking about $5 billion dollars to ‘fight terrorism’, a blank check with no oversight, and no guarantees on how funds and/or arms won’t simply go to jihadis again. That’s especially relevant given this administration’s previous fiascoes in that area. Listen to this Democrat, who’s all ready to give the president what he wants no questions asked:

 http://images.politico.com/global/2011/12/111215_carl_levin_ap_328.jpg

“We don’t know what the details are, so we can’t say what is in it and what isn’t,” said Senate Armed Services Chairman Carl Levin, who said the fund could be used to fight ISIS in Iraq or even Syria if that’s what the president decides to do. “I think that kind of flexibility is useful.”

You can’t make this stuff up.That money, according to the way the White House CR is now written could literally go to anyone, anywhere. It could go to al-Qaeda allied militias, or to Iran allied Shi’ite militias like Moqtadah al_Sadr’s Mahdi Army. It could go to Hamas, or to Hezbollah. It could even go to domestic campaign funding, or covertly to elections in say, Israel to help elect far Left candidates to the Knesset who will do the Administration’s bidding and surrender to the Arabs whom identify themselves as Palestinians.

With this president, anything is possible.

And to show you how ridiculous this is, President Obama is talking about arming the Syrian rebels on the one hand while engaging with our new allies, Iran in ‘security cooperation’ and ‘coordinated action’ on the other. Has no one explained to him that Iran is allied with Syria’s Basher Assad?

And speaking of Iran, have you noticed that  nothing’s being said lately about their illegal nuclear weapons program or their failure to cooperate with inspections by the IAEA?

Meanwhile, the president took pains to inform congress that even though he wants the money, he can attack Islamic State without consulting them. and do pretty much what he wants, as the Washington Examiner reports:

President Obama told congressional leaders in a meeting Tuesday that he has the authority to launch broader attacks against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, downplaying the prospect of a Capitol Hill vote on his military plan ahead of his prime-time address to the nation Wednesday night.

Obama “told the leaders that he has the authority he needs to take action against [the Islamic State] in accordance with the mission he will lay out in his address tomorrow,” the White House said in a readout of the meeting that included Obama, Vice President Joe Biden; House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio; Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev.; Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.; and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif

.
This has the potential to turn into even a bigger catastrophe than the president’s illegal war in Libya.

It’s about time congress assumed some responsibility for what’s going on. They need to find a credible spokesperson (Ted Cruz, Rand Paul or Duncan Hunter Jr. would be good choices) to explain to the American people exactly what’s going on, why they’re refusing to fund another illegal Obama war and what they need from this president in the way of oversight in order to even consider authorizing the funding…which includes, by the way, a clean resolution without the partisan add ons.

Islamic State isn’t the JayVee  Mr.President, you are. And not even in the starting lineup at that.

Star Witness In Michael Brown Shooting Charged With Theft And Filing False Police Report

dorian-johnson

Dorian Johnson, who was with Michael Brown when he was shot and is considered the prime witness for the prosecution if Officer Darren Williams goes to trial has been charged with theft and with filing a false police report. He had an outstanding warrant for a 2011 theft in Jefferson City Missouri that surfaced and pleaded guilty for filing a false police report related to that theft. The outstanding warrant surfaced when St. Louis ABC affiliate ABC 17 cross referenced Johnson’s name against several records, discovered the warrant and informed the authorities.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported the details of the 2011 charges:

Johnson was charged with a misdemeanor after giving police a false first name after he was arrested on suspicion of theft. He later pleaded guilty after he was accused of stealing a package containing a backpack belonging to someone else from an apartment complex. When he was arrested in that case, he identified himself as Derrick Johnson and said he was 16. The warrant was for failing to appear in Jefferson City municipal court to answer to the theft charge..to which will now be added the charge of filing a false police report, a felony in Missouri I believe.Johnson has reportedly pled guilty to that charge as well.

None of this has anything to do directly with the Michael Brown shooting, but it does affect Dorian Johnson’s credibility, which has also come under question because of a number of falsehoods he told in his original testimony. His story, repeated ad nauseum via the media was that Brown never reached for Wilson’s gun, never punched the policeman, had his hands up in surrender, was shot in the back and was ‘executed’ by Officer Williams who stood over him and fired two shots into brown when he was already lying wounded on the ground.

Almost all of this has been debunked by the first two autopsies, by ballistics and by Officer Williams’ medical records, showing his injuries. Brown did indeed punch Officer Williams, there was a struggle inside the police vehicle for the cop’s gun during which at least one shot was fired. The Michael Brown did in fact punch Officer Williams and inflict severe injury on him, Brown was definitely not shot in the back and the last two shot were fired from two to three feet away from where Officer Williams was standing while the rest were fired from a further distance away, giving credence to other witness accounts that 6′ 4″, 292 Pound Michael Brown had charged the policeman rather than having his hands up ‘surrendering.’

Since Johnson has also admitted that he was with Michael Brown when he committed robbery and assault at that convenience store, that coul dalso make him an accessory to that crime as well.

Don’t be surprised if the prosecution declines to use Dorian Johnson as a witness.

More UN Stupidity On Gaza!! Unbelievable!!

You can’t make this stuff up.

http://www1.aucegypt.edu/publications/auctoday/auctodayspring09/images/jamesrawley.gif

James Rawley, the top UN humanitarian official for the Palestinian territories was bloviating to France’s AFP today on the Gaza situation.

His solution? Cater to all of Hamas’s demands and lift the Egyptian-Israeli blockage on Hamas.

“The blockade must be lifted not only to get material into Gaza in order to rebuild it but to allow Gaza to do what it was doing very well just 10 years ago, to trade with the outside world,” Rawley told AFP.

“Gaza has a tremendous potential. People are very entrepreneurial, they’re well educated, they have markets abroad, in Israel and the West Bank. The blockade has to be lifted in order that Gaza can thrive.”

Note the part I emphasized. Ten years ago, the trade with the outside world indeed existed…but it was carried on by Israeli Jews in places like Gush Katif!!

The Israelis constructed thriving communities and state-of-the-art irrigated green houses that sent fruit, vegetables and flowers to Europe in a trade that amounted to millions of Euros annually. Here’s what the green houses looked like back then:

http://www.tomgrossmedia.com/img/exodus5.jpg

The Israeli disengagement took place in August of 2005. The greenhouses were turned over intact to the Arabs who identify themselves as Palestinians. Within hours, every one of them had been looted and destroyed, the pumps and irrigation lines ripped out by the roots.. Here’s what these same greenhouses looked  like within hours after the Jews left:

http://www.zionism-israel.com/ezine/Dscn5059.jpg

Needless to say, the Palestinian Authority, which received millions to rebuild Gaza diverted that money elsewhere, and Hamas  used the money it received for ‘construction and development’ to build tunnels for terrorist attacks and to buy missiles to kill Jews with.

Gaza does have tremendous potential, but not with its current rulers and inhabitants.  They already have had years to do that, but killing Jews was a much more important mission..and besides, the UN and those gullible western donors kept kicking in money for basic food, medicine and education, enabling Hamas and Islamic Jihad to spend their money on building tunnels and buying armaments

And this idiot thinks that if the blockade’s lifted, these people are going to create another Singapore?
If the blockade’s lifted, Hamas will just use those ‘rebuilding materials’ to repair the tunnels and to build luxury villas for the Hamas leaders…and the lack of a blockade to import more missiles from Iran. That’s exactly how the ‘building materials’ Israel let in last time were used. And has Mr. Rawley conveniently forgotten why the blockade was originally instituted? It was imposed in 2006 after Hamas invaded Israeli territory and kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit.

But wait, there’s more:

Rawley said Israel’s legitimate security concerns must be addressed but warned without ending the blockade that another round of fighting was “likely”.

“Not only will we see very little in the way of reconstruction, but I am afraid that the conditions are in place for us to have another round of violence like we’re seeing now,” he tells AFP in Gaza City.

“It (another conflict) would be likely… it doesn’t make me feel good to say that,” he says.

This tool again forgets some history. When Israel pulled out of Gaza, the U.S. the EU and the UN signed formal guarantees about Israeli security, none of which amounted to anything. As a matter of fact, when Hamas took over, the  EU guards stationed at the various crossings, dropped their weapons and ran like rabbits for the Israeli border.

Rawley, in true UN style also forgets that in every case of hostilities, it has been Hamas who has been the aggressor, not Israel. And it has been the ‘international community’ that has saved Hamas to fight another day each time.

It’s also worth noting that this latest buildup of Hamas’ military capabilities occurred while UNRWA was supposedly supervising what was going on with all the building materials Hamas was getting. Bags of cement with the UNRWA label have been found inside the Hamas tunnels, not to mention UNRWA being implicated in hiding weapons for Hamas in supposedly neutral UN buildings. With a track record like that, why would Israel trust assurances from the likes of the UN  that its ‘legitimate security concerns’ would be addressed?

UNRWA bags of building material used in Gaza tunnels Photo: IDF

If Rawley and the ‘international community’ want to avoid another round of conflict in Gaza, the solution’s simple…disarm Hamas, since they can’t be trusted to end hostilities permanently and run Gaza yourselves. Or even better, let Israel run it  and repopulate it with Jews, Then it might be something besides a beaten down terrorist squat.

Of course, if that happened, people like James Rawley would have to find an honest line of work that doesn’t involve perpetuating  Palestinian ‘refugee’ status for four generations.

Head Of Human Rights Watch OKs Terrorist Attacks On Israel

Ken Roth

Good ol’ Human Rights Watch..you can always depend on them to exhibit Jew hatred and try to disguise it with their selective faux morality.

According to the head of the organization Ken Roth, abductions and killings by Hamas are not human rights violations as long as the target is soldiers:

Kenneth Roth         @KenRoth Follow

Tunnels used to attack or capture civilians is a rights violation. Tunnels used to attack or capture soldiers isn’t. http://trib.al/v8CCCj6

Of course, Arab terrorists, like anti-Zionists and terrorism groupies everywhere always jump to that next step…that since the majority of Israelis serve in the IDF at some point there are no Israeli civilians! I’m sure you’ve all heard that one before and so has Ken Roth. What he’s done in so many words ids to legitimize terrorist attacks on Israel.
Now, Ken Roth has pretty much an impeccable anti-Israel record, to the point where the founder and former chairman of Human Rights Watch, Robert Bernstein, publicly disowned the organization in 2009 because of it. Roth  is described as an ‘international lawyer’ who graduated from Yale Law School. He’s been working at HWR since 1987, when he was hired by a fellow Left wing apostate Jew, Areyeh Neier, one of George Soros’ creatures who now heads Soros Open Society. Roth has headed HRW since 1993. Shouldn’t he actually know something about human rights as they apply to the laws of war?
For instance, the Geneva Convention distinguishes between ‘lawful’ and ‘unlawful’ combatants. Hamas perfectly fits the definition of unlawful because they  do not wear uniforms, openly target civilians and are not fighting on behalf of a sovereign state.

Not only that, but Article 34 of the Fourth Geneva Convention specifically prohibits taking hostages even among soldiers, the very thing this cretin just endorsed. So again, by definition, unlawful combatants taking hostages is a human rights violation.
Oh, I know, its Jews and Israel, and there are always special rules for them, aren’t there Mr. Roth?
You know what? The thing that bothers me most about people like Kenneth Roth is not their ‘anti-Zionism’  but their basic dishonesty. Hamas says flat out that their goal is genocide of all Jews worldwide, and they cite the Muslim scriptures to endorse it. The Ken Roths of the world grow up as Left wing apparatchniks who find Israel and the idea of a Jewish country abhorrent, because it embarrasses them with their Leftist counterparts. So they feel the need to prove their bonifides with stupidity like the above tweet.
And most of the time, they can’t even be honest about that much. While they pretend to endorse the idea of Israel’s survival, they want it ghetto-ized to indefensible borders while the West invests in ‘Palestine’ to the point where terrorist strikes against Israel make living there untenable, the Jews leave and it becomes just another Arab squat.
Unfortunately for them, the Jews aren’t going to permit themselves to be marginalized like that, and they’re staying.
The Ken Roths of the world can piss and moan about that all they like, but it isn’t going to change.

The Nuclear Talks Are Going Nowhere – Just Like Iran Wants Them To

 http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WMpSC7nK3os/SSW0UNIO6gI/AAAAAAAAC6Q/ccQMIy3HXqQ/s400/IRAN%252BNUKES.jpg

After months of back and forth between Iran and the United States, United Kingdom, France, Russia, China and Germany – formally known as the P5+1 powers – no real agreement is in sight. The entire sordid enterprise is being revealed as what it always was, a ploy for Iran to gain time in its quest for nuclear weapons and a rationalization for President Obama and his team to justify the removal sanctions they has already pretty much gutted anyway.

As Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif let the West’s negotiators and the world at large know, the Iranians are not going to ‘kneel’ to western concerns about enrichment or possible weaponization.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif address a news conference in Vienna March 19, 2014. REUTERS/Heinz-Peter Bader

“As we approach July 20, I feel compelled to warn again that pursuing a game of chicken in an attempt to extract last-minute concessions cannot achieve anything,” Zarif said in a You-Tube message.

This is very much in line with what  Iran’s atomic energy chief Ali Akbar Salehi announced just last April, that Iran has every right to enrich uranium at weapons grade level.Actually, they don’t because Iran violated the NPT Treaty it signed repeatedly as well as a number of UN resolutions demanding it cease enrichment ( which isn;t necessary for energy use or medial treatment, as the Canadians and other countries could tell you) but at this point Iran is used to the west backing down cravenly an dour leaders are happily continuing that tradition.

And speaking of weaponization, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Takhte Ravanchi, a member of Iranian nuclear negotiating team said outright that any questions or negotiation about Iran’s ballistic missiles were simply not on the agenda.

“If the talks underway between Iran and G5+1 yield results, the results are definitely observing Iran’s intended red lines, and otherwise we will reach no agreement. We will not allow that our country’s defense issues be discussed in talks. They have not been discussed and will not be (in the future).”

So, what are those red lines? Aside from the missiles, Iran wants only temporary curbs on enrichment. Or as Reuters reported Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi telling the Iranian media, “any limitation we submit to would be short-term and on a trial basis.”

There’s also little agreement on any IAEA oversight of Iran’s clandestine nuke program. Iranian faculties like Parchin and its heavy water plant at Arak, which has no peacetime application:

Speaking to reporters by phone from the summit, a senior US administration official said that negotiators had agreed an extension of only a few days might be necessary, but that “all eyes” are on the deadline.

Western powers offered “multiple pathways” to Iran to end the nuclear impasse, the official said, adding that the time has come for Iran to choose one of them.

“One can put together different packages” of elements that will prevent the Islamic Republic from acquiring a nuclear weapon, the official said. “The facts are that we are putting down very reasonable positions.”

Nevertheless, the P5+1 powers remain unsatisfied with the degree to which Tehran appears ready to compromise, on virtually every issue before them, ranging from an acceptable cap on uranium enrichment to oversight of research and development, to the degree and pace with which the West should lift sanctions on Iran, and just how long a deal should last.

“Iran has reduced the number of centrifuges it wants but the number is still unacceptably high,” one Western diplomat said on Wednesday, without further detail.

You can say that again. In that now infamous  interview with the columnist Jeffrey Goldberg last March, President Obama did some chest thumping about Iran, saying that the Iranians were cooperating because they were afraid of him! To hear President Obama talk, because they’re so scared of what he might do, “they’ve halted their nuclear program, no centrifuges being installed; the 20 percent enriched uranium being drawn down to zero; Arak on hold.”

Absolutely none of this is true. The Iranians say flatly that enrichment is continuing, a whole new crop of advanced centrifuges is being installed , and the Iranian heavy water reactor at Arak, which has no peaceful application is not on hold at all.

Right now, Iran has around 19,000 centrifuges installed, many of them the more advanced and more powerful models. With that many centrifuges, Iran not only mains ‘breakout capacity’ – the ability to quickly convert its enriched uranium stockpile to weapons grade quickly – but the capacity to doit and put together a nuclear bomb secretly without being detected. It’s no wonder the Ayatollahs want to hang on to them.

That unidentified official is right, that all eyes are on the deadline. In fact virtually the only thing Iran and the P5+1 agree on is an extension past July 20th, if no progress is made. And why not? If the Iranians need more time to perfect and test nuclear weapons ‘negotiate’ and continue to reject any proposals, why should the P5+1 stop them? It’s certainly easier than actually doing anything about a poisonous, fascist regime like Iran with its terrorist proxies like Hezbollah in the mix having nuclear weapons.Just look how well all those negotiations with North Korea worked out!

In future times, men like Barack Obama, John Kerry and UK Foreign Secretary William Hague may very well be regarded by history the way Neville Chamberlain, French Premier Edouard Daladier, and Britain’s former Foreign Secretary Lord Halifax are now…as men who refused to look evil in the face and deal with it when it could have been dealt with far more easily, and without the vast carnage that ensued afterwards.

Obama Is Aiding And Abetting Jihad Against The West – In Syria

 http://lawenforcementtoday.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Training-for-Jihad.jpg

In his commencement address at West Point, President Obama has announced that the U.S.is ‘weighing military aid’ for Syrian rebels. Separately, administration officials spoke off the record to reporters from the Associated Press and said that Obama and his team are planning to send U.S. military advisers to Jordan to train and equip certain moderate Syrian rebels.

Actually, the president has been covertly indulging his desire to intervene in Syria on the side of Islamist rebels without congressional oversight for quite some time, and its pernicious effect is starting to be felt. Just like the president’s illegal intervention in Libya, our intervention in Syria has been like a rock dropped into a lake, sending ripples far beyond the original point of impact.

The training has mostly been done in Qatar and conducted by the CIA,although training of jihadis has also occurred in Jordan, where we already have almost 2,000 U.S. troops stationed and in camps along Syria’s border with Turkey.

The president predictably lied about this when he was asked, but a documentary made by PBS ( hardly a right wing, anti-Obama platform) entitled ” Syria: Arming the Rebels” actually shows jihadis training, holding up U.S. weapons and supplies and describe their journey from the Syrian battlefield to meet with their American handlers in Turkey and then being shipped to Qatar. Once there, they’re instructed in sophisticated combat techniques, including one course on “how to finish off soldiers still alive after an ambush.”

As PBS notes “it appears the Obama administration is allowing select groups of rebels to receive US-made anti-tank missiles.”

The United States has already spent $287 million so far in what’s described as nonlethal aid for the rebels, with whom knows how much for military aid and training since the Obama Administration and the president still deny that took place. I mean, who are you going tro believe? Barack Obama or your lying eyes?

In any event this new emphasis means that a lot more money and arms are headed to Syria. Secretary of State John Kerry is talking in the neighborhood of $5 billion. He also claims we have the ability to vet who the aid goes to, which is ridiculous given the facts on the ground unless we really are going to send boots on the ground to Syria to get involved and see who lines up next to us.

How have our efforts in Syria been turning out so far?

Well, first of all, as was apparent from the PBS documentary and other sources, we haven’t really had all that much control of where the arms, money and supplies go, or really, even who gets trained.
It’s a similar situation to what happened in Afghanistan back in the late 1970’s when President Carter began arming the Afghan muhadejin to fight the Soviets. We sent the stuff to Pakistan and it was our dear friends the Pakistanis who decided who got what, not us. Any wonder the Taliban took over once the Soviets skedaddled?

What Syria is becoming is jihadi summer camp, with foreign fighters flocking there, picking up valuable experience and skills like how to make an IED that won;t result in a work accident and then heading back to their home countries to teach others. Al Nusrah and ISIS already run their own training facilities in Syria and in the parts of Iraq ISIS now controls. We have only estimates of how many jihadis with Western citizenship have been trained and indoctrinated there.

In late October 2013, Mike Rogers, chairman of the US House Intelligence Committee, warned that al Qaeda allies in Syria were now “talking about conducting external operations, which is exactly what happened in Afghanistan, which led to 9/11.”

Hundreds of EU citizens have ended up in the ranks of ISIS (The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria), Al Nusrah and al-Qaeda, and a number of them who have returned are actively involved in terrorism on the home front.

In Belgium, for instance, Mehdi Nemmouche, the jihadi accused of killing four people in an attack on the Jewish museum in Brussels is a French national who spent time fighting in Syria and had a flag from ISI in his possession as well as a Kalishnikov, a handgun, and jihad videos. None of this was news to the French Authorities that picked him up in Marseilles, since they had been attempting to track hi since they knew he had been fighting with ISIS in Syria.

Bomb threats were made against the Belgian Royal family after Belgian police arrested Ismail Abdelatif al Lal, a major al-Qaeda financier who was funding the recruitment and transport of Spanish and Moroccan Muslims to Syria. And the Belgian government ended up finally cancelling the government welfare benefits of 30 Belgian jihadis who were having the checks forwarded to banks in Turkey while they were fighting in Syria!

France’s French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve estimated that almost 400 jihadis who hold French passports are currently fighting in Syria. Back in March, former Interior Minister Manuel Valls “estimated that 700 French nationals or residents of France were more or less involved in the Syrian conflict, that 250 were currently in Syria, 99 were in transit to get there, 150 had showed interest in going there, 76 had already returned, and that 21 had died on Syrian soil.”

Those whom have returned will bring interesting skills back home with them, and a number apparently already have.

There are instances of this happening all over Europe.

And the U.S.? The estimates of battle trained Syrian jihadis who’ve returned here range from 70 to fifty.

If we can’t even vet our own citizens returning from Syria or stop them from going in the first place, how does the Obama team imagine it’s going to vet who gets U.S. military aid and training?

And is it a major leap to conclude that these arms and more importantly the training will be turned against us someday?

If you look at President Obama and his team and actions in Syria,in Libya, in Egypt and our funding of the new Hamas-Fatah government, you’d have to conclude that not only is our current regime tolerant and favorably disposed towards Islamists, they’re now actually aiding and abetting them. And it will cost us..horrendously,
