The Death of a Bad Idea

Andrew Klavan. But no video this time. He doesn’t need to do one, he expresses himself just fine in proper English. Yeah, I like his videos too, but some things are too deep to penetrate from a video. This is, I think, one of them. The left is simply and completely bankrupt. They have ruined […]

Life before the social welfare state

In 1779, before the advent of the welfare state or even a federal government in the US, when taxes were virtually non-existent, François de Barbé-Marbois wrote: “Begging is unknown in America. There are, in almost all towns, hostels which take … Continue reading

Break the Paradigm

You know for 130 years now, the federal government has had the civil service. It began with the Civil Service Act under Chester A. Arthur. It was an attempt to restrain the unseemly (and corrupt) spoils system, that had every customs officer and postmaster, lose their job when a president of a different party was […] . . . → Read More: Break the Paradigm . . . → Read More: Break the Paradigm

Crony Capitalism, Subsidiarity, iDemocracy, Corruption, and a Dichotomy

We’ll start today with an article from Cranmer by Brother Ivo and note that we are jumping back and forth between the UK and US here, so pay attention, the problems and solutions will be much the same. No clue Americans! (Video)

Meet some of New York’s ‘low information’ voters! They likely will have a better idea about who won ‘American Idol’ or ‘Dancing with the Stars’ than they will about two of the biggest scandals rocking the highest corridors of U.S. government, the … . . . → Read More: No clue Americans! Veterans are receiving letters from VA prohibiting the ownership or purchase of firearms

Disturbing Report: Veterans are receiving letters from VA prohibiting the ownership or purchase of firearms…

Written By Constitutional Attorney Michael Connelly, J.D.

How would you feel if you received a letter from the U.S. Government informing you that because of a physical or mental condition that the government says you have it is proposing to rule that you are incompetent to handle your own financial affairs? Suppose that letter also stated that the government is going to appoint a stranger to handle your affairs for you at your expense? That would certainly be scary enough but it gets worse.

What if that letter also stated: “A determination of incompetency will prohibit you from purchasing, possessing, receiving, or transporting a firearm or ammunition. If you knowingly violate any of these prohibitions, you may be fined, imprisoned, or both pursuant to the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act, Pub.L.No. 103-159, as implemented at 18, United States Code 924(a)(2).”?
