Trump assumes command of Obama’s Gestapo

During the monarchial reign of Barack Obama, the ex-president was well-known for his agenda-driven disregard of the limitations placed on the federal government by the Founding Fathers within the Constitution. As a result, Washington’s power grew as it achieved greater…

Will Baltimore riots usher in Obama’s Gestapo?

In a radio interview a few days ago, I was asked by the host to share my feelings about the happenings in Baltimore. Of course, I expressed my concerns over the death of Freddie Gray while in police custody. I expressed how we needed to give the system time to investigate what happened and, if appropriate, punish those responsible. However, I also shared my concern that this situation could be used as another excuse by Obama, following Ferguson, MO., to nationalize local law enforcement. It would appear that my concerns might have some merit. Did you know that Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake was a key player in the Barack Obama and Eric Holder plan to federalize the nation’s police force? She served as one of three mayors on Obama’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing which advocates for federal control of law enforcement in exchange for government funds. This could explain her “stand down” order when the rioting got out of control. Whether intentional or not, that action could have given her the leverage she needed to use the chaos as an opportunity to expand Obama’s control over local law enforcement and receive additional funds. Back in March I wrote […]

Montana takes steps to stop Obama’s Gestapo

“Arming ‘peace officers’ like they’re ready to occupy an enemy city is totally contrary to the society envisioned by the Founders. (The Feds) have turned ‘protect and serve’ into ‘command and control.’” – Michael Boldin, 10th Amendment Center Executive Director A few days ago, I wrote about how legislators in Arizona were taking steps to end Obamacare using the constitutional authority granted to the states in the Tenth Amendment. Well, it now appears that we are seeing this same approach being incorporated in Montana as the legislature there takes steps to stop Obama’s ever-expanding militarization of civilian police forces. The bill signed into law by Gov. Steve Bullock prohibits state and local law enforcement from receiving some military equipment via the Pentagon’s 1033 program. HB330 prohibits state or local law enforcement agencies from receiving a long list of military-styled equipment, such as: Armored and/or weaponized drones Combat configured aircraft Grenades or similar explosives as well as grenade launchers Silencers Militarized armored vehicles Besides making this equipment available through the Pentagon, the 1033 program provides funds to local police departments through the “Homeland Security Grant Program,” which is funded by the Department of Homeland Security. HB330 also prohibits the purchase of […]

Militarized police use technology to usurp 4th Amendment

The war against the Constitution is becoming so intense, it’s getting harder and harder to keep up. Last week, it was the freedoms of speech and religion that were under assault from politicians, the media, and even the Pope. This week, it’s the right to privacy, or to be more specific, the Fourth Amendment’s protection against unreasonable search and seizure. It was just yesterday that I wrote about the recent Washingon Post/ABC News poll showing that nearly 7 out of 10 Americans favor surrendering the right to privacy to the government in order to be safe from terrorism. Now we receive word of a new radar technology that makes it possible for law enforcement to look inside your home without entering it. According to a report by USA Today’s Brad Heath, at least 50 U.S. law enforcement agencies have secretly equipped their officers with radar devices that allow them to effectively peer through the walls of homes to see whether anyone is inside, a practice that raises serious concerns about the power of government to conduct surveillance operations. These agencies, including the FBI and the U.S. Marshalls Service, began deploying the radar systems more than two years ago with little […]
