Trump names Putin’s favorite CEO as Secretary of State

Following revelations by Roger Stone–the sleazy advisor to the Trump campaign behind the National Inquirer “articles” about Ted Cruz’s non-existent extramarital affairs, and “confirmed” that Ted’s father (Rafael) was an accessory in the JFK assassination–that Trump only interviewed Mitt Romney…

GOP establishment plan to hijack convention gaining steam

A few weeks ago I wrote about Mitt Romney’s sudden involvement in the Republican presidential primaries, and how I saw this as an effort to clear the way for him to become the nominee through a brokered or contested convention.…

Mitt Romney’s plan for a brokered convention continues

A few days ago I commented on Mitt Romney’s television event where he went on the record with a list of grievances he has against Donald Trump, and how he believed that Trump would be the worst possible candidate to…

Mitt Romney’s Gift to Hillary Must be Condemned

This week the snake demanded the skunk leave the party. It made big news for a moment in snaketown, but the party rolled on. Mitt Romney told Republicans — no, he decreed from his throne– that Donald Trump is “a…

Mitt Romney begins his quest for GOP nomination

Mitt Romney, who lost the Republican nomination to John McCain in 2008 and lost the general election to Barack Obama in 2012, spoke before a television audience yesterday to let America know what he thinks of Donald Trump as a…

Sen. Cruz diminishes himself

Reid Epstein’s article on Sen. Cruz isn’t a flattering portrayal of Sen. Cruz. Frankly, Sen. Cruz’s statements sound whiny and jealous. When Sen. Cruz said “I understand that in the media newsrooms and in the Washington establishment circles, Marco is the chosen one”, it came across as if Sen. Cruz is jealous that Sen. Rubio […]

Will McCain be Trump’s demise?

A super PAC announced tonight that they’re hitting Donald Trump with some hard-hitting ads featuring Sen. McCain. When I read the part about Sen. McCain, I was skeptical. After reading the Our Principles super PAC probably shift strategy “to remind voters in New Hampshire about the disgraceful things that he said about John McCain”, it […]

Cruz’s exaggerations exposed

Donald Trump isn’t the only presidential candidate that doesn’t hesitate in laying things on a little too thick. Based on this article, Ted Cruz fits that description, too. Wednesday afternoon, Sen. Cruz sat down for an interview with Jeff Kuhner. Kuhner opened by asking “Is Marco Rubio a genuine conservative?” He asked that after listing […]

Mitt Romney blames new media and conservatives for GOP woes

Mitt Romney defends Obama while attacking Ted Cruz

On Tuesday, Senator and presidential candidate Ted Cruz (R-TX) had this to say about Obama’s deal with Iran: “If this deal is consummated, it will make the Obama administration the world’s leading financier of radical Islamic terrorism. Billions of dollars under the control of this administration will flow into the hands of jihadists who will use that money to murder Americans, to murder Israelis, to murder Europeans.” Not much to argue about, right? So you’d think a “severe conservative” like Mitt Romney would support Cruz for taking a strong conservative stand against the nuclear ambitions of a terrorist nation. Well… while the former Republican presidential candidate says he’s opposed to the Iran deal, he is attacking the current presidential candidate for his criticism of the agreement. I am opposed to the Iran deal, but @SenTedCruz is way over the line on the Obama terrorism charge. Hurts the cause. — Mitt Romney (@MittRomney) July 30, 2015 Maybe Mittens should spend a few of his millions to buy a clue. In a recent CNN interview, National Security Adviser Susan Rice admitted the Obama deal will give Iran access to up to $150 billion to spend as it wishes and would do nothing […]

It’s Conservative Comedy time at the Strident Conservative. As I do every Friday, I bring you some of the best conservative political and religious comedy, jokes, and satire on the internet, sure to provide a good laugh to begin your weekend. Barack Obama spoke at the commencement of the US Coast Guard Academy last week to make the graduates aware of the crucial role they’ll be playing in his War On Weather. Specifically, he declared that “climate change constitutes a serious threat to global security–an immediate risk to our national security. And make no mistake, it will impact how our military defends our country. So we need to act, and we need to act now.” As if this wasn’t enough to get the graduating class glancing nervously at the skies, Obama said that failure to embrace liberal climate change orthodoxy amounted to negligence and dereliction of duty.  He then linked the raping, murdering, kidnapping, slave-trading activities of pretty much every terrorist organization to the alleged reduction in the world’s precious permafrost. Hope n’ Change puts it this way: he’s less concerned with ISIS at our doors than ices at our poles. Jodi Miller at Newsbusted takes us into the weekend […]

Jeb, the survivor? I think not

A.B. Stoddard’s article needs lots of refinements. Here’s how it starts: Four months into the 2016 presidential campaign, Jeb Bush has all the money and none of the mojo. Despite the financial juggernaut the former Florida governor has built — Bush said this week he had raised more than anyone else has at this point […]

Is The Clinton Foundation Just A Foreign Laundering Scheme?

I’ve always thought it sad that we have commented more or less forever that we have the best Congress money can buy. particularly since it so often seems true. We deserve better but we are lazy and don’t demand it, so we don’t get it. Still this nonsense just leaves me shaking my head in […]

Democrats: Harry Reid’s enablers

Last night on ‘On the Record’, host Greta van Susteren played a clip of Harry Reid saying something utterly outrageous, which isn’t surprising. Greta then asked her Political Panel why Democrats haven’t spoken up about Reid. Kirsten Powers’ response was the obligatory ‘Harry Reid has been effective’ chanting point. I’m tired of getting that reply. […]

Conservative Comedy 4/10/15

It’s Conservative Comedy time at the Strident Conservative. As I do every Friday, I bring you some of the best conservative political and religious comedy, jokes, and satire on the internet, sure to provide a good laugh to begin your weekend. The Conservative Comic at Hope n’ Change says we should forget Iran’s nuke-seeking mullahs. The real fireworks in this week’s political scene happened when Dick Cheney went nuclear on Barack Obama’s well-deserving keister. Appearing on a radio interview with host Hugh Hewitt, the former Vice-President was asked to assess Barry’s (ahem) “vision” for the policies he’s executing in the Middle East. To which Mr. Cheney replied, “I think his actions are constituted in my mind as those of the worst president we’ve ever had.” Jodi Miller at Newsbusted takes us into the weekend with these headlines: Democrats want a new face in the 2016 presidential race, a mother gives marijuana brownies to her 13-year-old daughter, and Mitt Romney prepares to box Evander Holyfield. Additional stories include: Obama blaming George W. Bush for ISIS, NASA’s plans for a new rocket, and Good Morning America’s Lara Spencer gets a divorce. She wraps up her show with a story about the reason a female high school teacher […]

Jabba the Hutt would love Harry Reid

Are you a fan of Star Wars movies? Do you remember the scene in Star Wars IV: A New Hope where Obi-Wan Kenobi describes the Mos Eisley spaceport on Tatooine like this…? If George Lucas changed the name of Tattooine to America, Obi-Wan Kenobi’s description of Mos Eisley could easily and accurately be a description of Washington D.C. I think “scum and villainy” provides a pretty accurate description of most of the men and women working there. Consider, for example, the outgoing Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid. He recently was interviewed by Dana Bash of CNN, where he was asked about his questionable behavior as Senate Majority Leader in 2012 and his libelous character assassination of Mitt Romney from the Senate floor. Not surprisingly, he offered no apologies nor regrets for his actions. In fact, he Reminded by Bash that Republicans had branded his blatant malice as “McCarthyite,” Reid defended his indefensible attack in a manner that would even make Obi-Wan blush. “Well, they can call it whatever they want,” said Reid. “Romney didn’t win, did he?” What scum! And speaking of scum, that reminds me of a scene in Star Wars VI: Return of the Jedi. It’s the scene where Princess Leia, disguised as the bounty hunter […]

Deciphering TWS’s unscientific poll

After reading Daniel Halper’s article, it’s clear that there isn’t a clear Republican frontrunner. Still, the unscientific poll is helpful. Here’s the results of TWS’ unscientific poll: Scott Walker–mentioned on 44% of the ballots as either first, second or third choice; first choice on 18%. Thus, 44/18. Ted Cruz–35/16. Ben Carson–26/10. Mitt Romney–24/12. Bobby Jindal–20/3. […]

Mitt: Nice guy, terrible candidate

After reading this part of this article, it’s clear that Mitt Romney shouldn’t be the GOP presidential nominee: He said Mr. Obama and Clinton would have America “walk back from red lines…lead from behind…[carry] a small stick.” He ticked through the world’s hotspots: Libya, Iraq, Ukraine, Iran. “Terrorists are not on the run,” he said. Conservatives must resolve to rise up in 2015

Happy 2015 America! New Year’s day is often a time of reflection for the year just gone while also being a time to set goals for the new year just begun. Looking back on 2014, Conservatives had a decent year. Most notably, the part we played in the historic landslide election that resulted in the removal of Harry “The Henchman” Reid from his lofty position as the Senate Majority Leader when we helped the Republican party retake control of the Senate. We also helped increase the number of Republicans in the House of Representatives. Clearly, we played a significant role in electing a Congress that can stop Obama’s runaway socialistic agenda. But alas, this came with ugly consequences. During the primaries, Gutless On Principles (GOP) Hall of Shame member Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-INO KY) joined forces with fellow member Rep. John Boehner (R-INO OH) in a declaration of war against the same conservative groups that gave them their newfound power. And that was just the beginning. Another Gutless On Principles (GOP) Hall of Shame enshrinee, Sen. John McCain (R-INO AZ), has created a political machine that has as its only objective the elimination of the T.E.A. Party and other conservative groups in that state. A rather ironic objective considering […]
