President Trump’s “dark” speech

Byron York’s article about media reaction to President Trump’s inauguration speech is telling in that it exposes the media’s groupthink. York notes that “Talking to people on the Mall was like entering a universe entirely apart from that of the political commentariat. In the pundits’ world, Trump delivered a pessimistic and foreboding address, one sure […]

It’s Conservative Comedy time at the Strident Conservative where I bring you some of the best conservative political and religious comedy, jokes, and satire on the internet, sure to provide a good laugh to begin your weekend. The mainstream media continues to praise young Ahmed Mohammed, the Muslim genius who “invented” a digital alarm clock (will wonders never cease?) by removing the guts from an old Radio Shack digital clock and shoving them into the most suspicious-looking case he could find. The boy, Ahmed Mohamed, did nothing wrong bringing his invention to school. Hope n’ Change believes that authorities also did nothing wrong in being suspicious of a device which looks nothing like a clock (and perhaps wasn’t meant to), and is in fact a circuit board, power source and tangle of wires which would function quite nicely as a timed detonator if that had been the intent. Jodi Miller at Newsbusted takes us into the weekend with these headlines: Most Americans believe we are going in the wrong direction, the European immigration crisis, and Bernie Sanders is rising in the polls. Additional stories include: Hillary’s image continues to deteriorate, Brian Williams is returning to TV, and the New Jersey […]

It’s Conservative Comedy time at the Strident Conservative where I bring you some of the best conservative political and religious comedy, jokes, and satire on the internet, sure to provide a good laugh to begin your weekend. According to Chief Justice John Roberts, “Congress passed the Affordable Care Act to improve health insurance markets, not to destroy them. If at all possible, we must interpret the act in a way that is consistent with the former, and avoids the latter.” So Roberts is again violating his duties by ruling on what he believes the intent was when one political party unilaterally passed an act they hadn’t bothered to read. And in coming to his conclusion, Roberts has had to ignore Jonathan Gruber’s plainspoken admissions that the Act was written to deliberately punish states which did not establish their own healthcare exchanges. The “pertinent statutory phrase” was clear, deliberate, and the exact opposite of what Roberts is now saying. But the Conservative Comic at Hope n’ Change  takes it a step further. The Affordable Care Act was written to destroy health insurance markets, so that when the full implementation of Obamacare fails (as it is already doing), no market solution will […]

In an address to 75 visiting members of the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (Slogan: “We’ll be your bosses before we’re old enough to shave”), Barack Obama made the hilarious claim that his policies have returned the United States to the status of “most respected country on Earth.” “People don’t remember,” the president explained to our youthful future overlords, “when I came into office, the United States in world opinion ranked below China, barely above Russia.” As the Conservative Comic at Hope n’ Change tells us, now we’re considered ranker than both of them. Jodi Miller at Newsbusted takes us into the weekend with these headlines: a new poll showing that half of the country thinks the country is divided, Obama reconsiders his strategy to fight ISIS, and he makes plans for his presidential library. Additional stories include: MSNBC is experiencing their lowest ratings ever, San Francisco 49ers player Justin Smith retires, and Jimmy Carter isn’t quite feeling himself. She […]

Barack Obama spoke at the commencement of the US Coast Guard Academy last week to make the graduates aware of the crucial role they’ll be playing in his War On Weather. Specifically, he declared that “climate change constitutes a serious threat to global security–an immediate risk to our national security. And make no mistake, it will impact how our military defends our country. So we need to act, and we need to act now.” As if this wasn’t enough to get the graduating class glancing nervously at the skies, Obama said that failure to embrace liberal climate change orthodoxy amounted to negligence and dereliction of duty.  He then linked the raping, murdering, kidnapping, slave-trading activities of pretty much every terrorist organization to the alleged reduction in the world’s precious permafrost. Hope n’ Change puts it this way: he’s less concerned with ISIS at our doors than ices at our poles. Jodi Miller at Newsbusted takes us into the weekend […]

The Conservative Comic at Hope n’ Change reminds us: The news out of Baltimore is coming fast and furious, and pretty much all of it is enraging to anyone with an ounce of sanity. The most important news? It’s that the word “thug” has become the new “N” word. Meanwhile, Freddie Gray’s autopsy results do not indicate that the police were to blame, but rather that his life-ending injuries were either self-inflicted or (possible but less likely) the secondary result of a seizure. That hasn’t stopped Maryland state attorney Marilyn J. Mosby from charging the officers with murder, manslaughter, and myriad other offenses, based on the accusation that the police failed to secure Gray with a seat belt during transport, and failed to render timely medical aid after he had requested it. Jodi Miller at Newsbusted takes us into the weekend with these headlines: A new poll about Hillary Clinton’s honesty, a plan by the Hillary campaign to raise […]

It’s Conservative Comedy time at the Strident Conservative. As I do every Friday, I bring you some of the best conservative political and religious comedy, jokes, and satire on the internet, sure to provide a good laugh to begin your weekend. Last Friday, White House spokesweasel Josh Earnest announced Barack Obama’s appointment of a new Ebola czar, explaining “what we were looking for is NOT an Ebola expert, but rather an implementation expert – and that’s exactly what Ron Klain is.” Because, you know, the White House has done such a bang up job using non-expert “implementers” to do things like design the Healthcare.gov website, keep an eye on “Fast & Furious” guns, clean up IRS abuses, run VA hospitals, provide security in Benghazi, and – oh yeah – being president of the freaking United States. As the Conservative Comic at Hope n’ Change shows us, there is at least a modicum of good news for those who believe that putting a political hit man in charge of our nation’s Ebola response isn’t a great idea: so far, he’s already skipped two emergency meetings on the viral crisis – so at least he hasn’t done any real harm. Yet. Jodi Miller […]

Ebola: An excuse for racism?

In 2008, those on the left held up Barack Hussein Obama as a candidate who presented an opportunity for America to elect a post-racial President; a man who could bring healing to a nation wounded by a history of racial division. Yet, from Attorney General Eric Holder to Obama himself, we have been fed a steady diet of race-baiting politics meant to silence anyone who dared to criticize or disagree with the man Louis Farrakhan once hailed as the messiah. Disagree with Obama, for any reason, and get branded a racist—particularly if you are a Republican. The latest example of this reality comes to us courtesy of the Ebola threat facing the world. Even though there are a growing number of nations either banning or severely restricting travel to and from certain West African nations overwhelmed with the Ebola epidemic, Barack Obama refuses to consider it for America, insisting that such isolation would actually spread the disease; a fact that his own CDC (Centers for Disease Control) appears to disagree with: Isolation and quarantine help protect the public by preventing exposure to people who have or may have a contagious disease. Twenty U.S. Quarantine Stations, located at ports of entry […]

It’s time for some Conservative Comedy at the Strident Conservative. As I do every Friday, I bring you some of the best conservative political comedy, jokes, and satire on the internet, sure to provide a good laugh to begin your weekend. You might not notice the first signs of contracting Ebola for anywhere between two days and three weeks after exposure. Then, as with many viruses, you’ll get a fever, feel body and throat pains, and have a headache. Then you start bleeding. From your eyes, ears, nose, mouth, genitalia, and rectum – melting like a human popsicle under a searing sun. The pain is agonizing and, up to 90% of the time, ends in death. Could terrorist try to smuggle Ebola into the U.S. using someone who’s already infected? And if they did, wouldn’t the fiasco at the border make it easier for them to do so? Consider this scenario: terrorists obtain vials of infected blood in Liberia (not hard since everything there is spinning off the rails). Transport those vials into Central America, pay off a few “coyotes,” and start giving “free vitamin shots” to unsuspecting kids heading for the American border. Then just sit back and enjoy […]

The multi-faceted Lerner-IRS scandal

Chuck Todd, NBC’s Chief White House Correspondent, apparently hasn’t figured it out that the initial IRS scandal isn’t the only IRS scandal. Here’s what he said on the matter: On Monday, the IRS Commissioner testified before Congress. A week after the IRS told Senate investigators that two years of e-mails disappeared in a computer crash […]

It’s time for some Conservative Comedy at the Strident Conservative. As I do every Friday, I bring you some of the best Conservative political satire on the internet, sure to provide a good laugh to begin your weekend. In a landmark decision, the US Patent and Trademark Office has decided to retroactively revoke many trademarks for the Washington Redskins football team on the grounds that their name and team logo are “disparaging to Native Americans.” Which is nothing to take lightly; just hearing the word “redskin” causes Elizabeth Warren’s high cheekbones to flush with anger. The Conservative Comic at Hope n’ Change doesn’t give a rat’s rear end about either football or political correctness, but we don’t much like the idea that the Patent Office is now putting themselves in the business of regulating free speech (in this case by removing the financial value of a trademark). Nor do we like the idea of such regulation being contingent on finding someone – anyone – who feels offended. Because if that’s the new standard, we’re pretty sure we can find waaaay more people who are offended by the word “Washington” than “Redskin.” Jodi Miller at Newsbusted provides plenty of this week on several […]

It’s time for some Conservative Comedy at the Strident Conservative. As I do every Friday, I bring you some of the best Conservative political satire on the internet, sure to provide a good laugh to begin your weekend. The VA scandal (FOX News’ Judge Jeanine is right when she say that criminal charges should start with negligent homicide of veterans, and move out and up from there). Michelle Obama’s school lunch program. The 9/11 Museum’s increasingly infamous gift shop. The zero-gravity pissing match between Russia and the United States where Putin has declared he will cut off our access to the International Space Station. In Obama’s America, it’s sometimes hard to find just one thing for the Conservative Comic at Hope n’ Change to comment on. So this week, he tells it like it really is with a cartoon that pretty much sums up how many are feeling in America today. Jodi Miller at Newsbusted is back from taking some time off. With the VA scandal, MSNBC has taken steps to show its support of their BFF in the White House; Adam Corrolla has a new book out that mentions some interesting things about the Gay Mafia, and John Kerry has agreed to testify in the Benghazi hearings. Benghazi: Trey Gowdy vs. Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff & Chuck Todd

The select committee tasked with finding out what happened in Benghazi is an intellectual mismatch. On one side, you’ve got MSNBC’s Chuck Todd, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Due to a personal emergency, the Conservative Comic at Hope n’ Change is taking a few days off. Not to worry though, I found a recent cartoon in the archives containing a timely message. It seems that John Boehner is continuing to play the Mitch McConnell card by attacking fellow Republicans who refuse to march in lockstep with the G.O.P. insiders when it comes to immigration reform amnesty for illegal aliens. Speaking in his home district in Ohio, Boehner ridiculed those who don’t believe as he does on the issue: “The appetite amongst my colleagues for doing this is not real good…here’s the attitude: ‘Ohhhhh, don’t make me do this! Ohhhhhh, this is too hard!’ You should hear them. You know, we get elected to make choices.” Was that crying fake? He cries for real so often that it’s hard to tell. Besides the fact that he’s wrong about why members of Congress are elected—you get elected to represent the will of […]

Conservative Comedy – Income Tax Day Edition

Welcome to the Income Tax Day edition of Conservative Comedy at the Strident Conservative. As I do every Friday, I bring you some of the best Conservative political satire on the internet, sure to provide a good laugh to begin your weekend. April 15th wasn’t only Tax Day, it was also the deadline (sort of) for enrolling in Obamacare. As the Conservative Comic at Hope n’ Change reflected on this, he came to the conclusion that it was a genuine “two-fer” as far as the government is concerned. As the old saying goes, the two things in life that are certain are death and taxes; thanks to Obamacare, Barry is in control of them both. Jodi Miller at Newsbusted has plenty to report on about Christmas Day for the Democrats (i.e. April 15th). It’s not all bad news though. For instance, now that Tax Day is past, the I.R.S. can stop targeting T.E.A. Party 501C (3) applications; instead, they can redirect those resources to auditing their tax returns—along with the returns of anyone who donated to them. Also covered this week: Obamacare and Mickey Rooney, a recent development that could cost Kevin Spacey any future Oscars, and the Obama response […]

Obama’s poll numbers are down so you’re a racist!

Without even knowing what they are, I know Obama’s poll numbers must be on the decline, because the left has been wearing out the binding on their race-baiting bibles as they attack any and all criticisms brought by Republicans on the administration. This has become ever more apparent since the first of this year when, in a New Yorker Magazine article, Obama blamed his sinking poll numbers at the time on the color of his skin : “There’s no doubt that there’s some folks who just really dislike me because they don’t like the idea of a black president.” Of course, I’m sure the fact that the dismal Obamacare roll out had just started was purely a coincidence. Come to think of it, the failures with Obamacare have provided plenty of opportunities to resort to race-baiting, as we have seen throughout the healthcare debate from Kathleen Sebelius, Jesse Jackson, and Harry Reid, just to name a few. Lately however, issues like the weak economy, pork-barrel spending, controversial nominees to various positions within the administration, and NSA spying have provided additional opportunities to exercise those race-baiting muscles. In a recent radio interview with Bill Bennett, Paul Ryan was asked a series of questions about the chronically unemployed and the ever-increasing poverty problem. The jest […]

It’s time for some Conservative Comedy at the Strident Conservative. As I do every Friday, I bring you some of the best Conservative political satire on the internet, sure to provide a good laugh to begin your weekend. The Conservative Comic at Hope n’ Change wants to know if you like Obamacare. Because if you do, you’re going to love Obamanews—the exciting new FCC initiative to make sure that decision-making in the nation’s newsrooms gets (ahem) “fixed” to assure that voters will hear only what they are supposed to hear. The program, called the “Multi-Market Study of Critical Information Needs” or CIN (presumably pronounced “sin”) for short, will place FCC “researchers” in newsrooms to examine how reporters, editors, and station owners decide which news stories to run. Oddly, the FCC’s “fact-finding mission” will include placement of their representatives in news organizations which deal only in print…over which the FCC has absolutely no authority. Then again, as long as Barack Obama is making up new powers and getting away with it unchallenged, why should any other agencies show restraint? Especially if it will never be reported. Jodi Miller at Newsbusted is off this week, but not to fret. I found some great videos to fill in until she […]

It’s time for some Conservative Comedy at the Strident Conservative. As I do every Friday, I bring you some of the best Conservative political satire on the internet, sure to provide a good laugh to begin your weekend. Barack Obama recently boasted that he’d be unilaterally (and, oh yeah, illegally) changing our nation’s laws using nothing but his pen and his phone. And for once he was actually telling the truth. The president just issued yet another change to Obamacare, this time delaying the law’s employer mandate until 2016 for companies with between 50 and 99 employees. This means that those companies can now refuse to give their employees health insurance with no penalties whatsoever. As the Conservative Comic at Hope n’ Change shows us, this boon to business came with a hidden cost which was also scrawled by the president’s pen. In order to qualify for this exemption, employers cannot fire or lay off any employees. Moreover, if any employer is forced by economic need to still lay off employees, they will be required by Obama’s new imaginary law to make an official declaration to the IRS that Obamacare was not a consideration in the downsizing, or face penalties. Of course, this […]

It’s time for some Conservative Comedy at the Strident Conservative. As I do every Friday, I bring you some of the best Conservative political satire on the internet, sure to provide a good laugh to begin your weekend. Rested and refreshed from his extended luxury vacation in Hawaii, Barack Obama surrounded himself with a rainbow coalition of jobless paupers to give a speech about the importance of extending “emergency” unemployment benefits in an economy which he claims is booming after five years of his stewardship. If those mutually exclusive propositions aren’t enough to run your brain through a blender, then consider Mr. Obama’s additional claims that unemployment benefits actually create jobs, and that there’s no need to find any matching budget cuts to fund his proposed $6 billion extension of payments for another 90 days, even though cutting back his wife’s vacation budget might put a pretty good dent in it. Perhaps, as we see from this week’s cartoon from the Conservative Comic at Hope n’ Change, we aren’t looking at it the way Obama does. As 2013 wound to a close, Jodi Miller at Newsbusted was in the middle of a fundraiser that, if successful, would make it possible to produce two episodes a week. […]
