Why the media missed the Story of the Year

Salena Zito’s article turns the spotlight on the MSM, aka the Agenda Media, to highlight why the media got this election badly wrong. Early in the article, Salena wrote about the NY Times, saying “Take The New York Times’ public editor’s laudable call for more diversity in the newsroom. ‘The executive editor, Dean Baquet, is […]

What do “transgender” and “Redskins” have in common? Newspeak!

In today’s politically-correct world, New York City fines employers and landlords up to $250,000 for using the wrong pronouns when referring to sexually-confused individuals–the so-called transgendered. Under the law, he/him/his and she/here/hers must be replaced with made-up words like ze…

Hillary Clinton: Washington Post’s Pinocchio Queen

Each year, and periodically in between, The Fact Checker (journalist Glenn Kessler at The Washington Post) hands out it’s much the ballyhooed “Pinocchio Awards” to some of the year’s biggest whopper-tellers. None are immune from the Post’s poison pen as…

WaPo: Black votes should count more than whites’ as reparations

The idea of reparations for the descendants of slaves has been a topic of discussion in the far-left wing of the Democrat party for years, and there have even been rumblings that Obama might push for such an idea in 2016 before he leaves office. While the likelihood of reparations becoming reality is debatable, there remains no lack of ideas for ways to make America pay, for what the left would call, the sins of America. Such as this little tidbit reported by World Net Daily. Theodore Johnson, a writer for the Washington Post, published an op-ed to spell out his idea of racial reconciliation, circa 2015: Blacks should get weighted votes so they “count for 167 percent of everyone else’s.” Why? Because according to Johnson—a former White House fellow—blacks are still given inferior political treatment when it comes to obtaining fair housing, education, criminal justice and employment. “This weighted vote, coupled with an increasingly active black electorate that in 2012 had a higher voter participation rate than whites for the first time in history, would offer African-Americans an outsize influence on national and state elections.” “Politicians, finally, would have to truly compete for the black vote, or a substantial […]

Majority favors limiting Fifth Amendment and killing Americans

The attack on the Constitution by every branch of government on every level — federal, state, and local — is troubling to say the least. But even more troubling is a recent upward trend indicating a willingness by many Americans to surrender their constitutional rights to government under the misguided notion that doing so will make their world a safer place. In January I wrote about a Washington Post – ABC News poll that showed how 63% of Americans were willing to give up their personal privacy rights in order to help battle terrorism. In February I wrote about a Rasmussen poll that indicated a growing belief that the president should have the right to ignore the courts if they stand in the way of actions he feels are important to the country. Now comes word of a new poll by the Associated Press showing that nearly 75% of Americans are OK with using unmanned aerial drone strikes to kill an American citizen abroad if that person has joined a terror organization. In addition, it showed that 6 in 10 supports the use of drones to target terrorists in general. While this may sound reasonable, it raises several problems for […]

Media Companies Spin Off Newspapers, to Uncertain Futures – NYTimes.com

This is quite interesting, in a ‘I told you so’ sort of way. It seems that the big media companies are finding it quite difficult to make a profit printing newspapers. from the New York Times A year ago last week, it seemed as if print newspapers might be on the verge of a comeback, […]

Mind Boggling Draft Document From the Obama Administration

Because of all the focus on the botched startup of the Obamacare and the appropriate focus on the president’s lies about people being able to keep their health insurance plans, this story a couple of weeks ago has gone beneath the radar screen.    It is truly mind boggling to me.

First:                                                    Then:

Sept. 11, 2001 New York City

Sept. 11, 2012 Benghazi, Libya – American Diplomatic Mission

American patriots killed in Benghazi terrorist attack after being left behind by the US government

Now:

Oct. 25, 2013: From the Project On Middle East Democracy [POMED]: “According to the Washington Post, the administration says “relations with Libya have ‘normalized’ over the past two years and that the Libyan government has earned the rights to have better access to the U.S.” The article also states that the rules change would “offer military training to Libyans so they can use those skills to rebuild their armed forces, including training in aviation maintenance, flight operations and nuclear-related studies.”

With the Libyan Al Qaida terrorist attack in Benghazi just one year removed, the US government wants to train [militarily] Libyans in the United States.

October 24, 2013: This from The Washington Times: “The Obama administration has drawn up draft rules that would end a decades long ban on Libyans getting military training in the U.S., according to documents obtained by House Republicans who said Thursday that it’s the wrong move after last year’s Benghazi attack.”

“The administration says relations with Libya have “normalized” over the past two years and that the Libyan government has earned the right to have better access to the U.S., which imposed the ban in 1983 after a wave of terrorist attacks involving Libyans.

The United States rightfully had a ban on Libyans access to the US that lasted for almost 30 years because of their involvement in terrorist activity, and now just one year after a despicable  terrorist attack in Benghazi that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and Sean Smith and Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, is this administration really considering bringing Libyans to the United States to train them in aviation maintenance, flight operations and nuclear related studies?  Are you kidding me?

Thank God some Republican congressmen are on to this and are speaking out against it.

House Judiciary Chair-Bob Goodlatte, R-VA

From Stephen Dinan of the Washington Times:
“House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, Virginia Republican, and Rep. Jason Chaffetz, Utah Republican, said Libya remains a dangerous hot spot and relaxing the rules is a bad idea.“We still haven’t gotten to the bottom of the Benghazi terrorist attacks and continue to face additional terrorist threats from Libya, yet the Obama administration is preparing to lift a long-standing ban that protects Americans and our interests,” said Mr. Goodlatte, whose committee obtained the draft document. “The Obama administration should focus its attention on getting answers to the lingering questions surrounding the Benghazi terrorist attacks and ensure that Americans are kept safe and sound,” he said”.

Amen, Chairman Goodlatte.   Keep your focus on this.

God watch over this country these next three years.  The man who promised he would fundamentally transform the United States of America is doing just that.  Sadly, I say.

Why Won’t The GOP Let Us Have a Normal Debate? Why!?

Jonah Goldberg has an article up at National Review Online. In it he makes the point that many, many establishment Republican are carrying water for the lying methods used by the Democratic party (exclusively) to foist this abortion of a health care bill on us. Perry vs. O’Malley: a fight for the ages?

Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley’s Washington Post op-ed is obviously trying to prebut Texas Gov. Rick Perry prior to Perry’s visit to Maryland: With gridlock and partisanship having all but paralyzed Washington, governors are at the forefront of our country’s policy divide. On the No. 1 issue facing our nation, how to ensure that Americans are […] . . . → Read More: Perry vs. O’Malley: a fight for the ages? . . . → Read More: Perry vs. O’Malley: a fight for the ages?

Washington Post touting virtues of PPACA

H/T: Erika Johnsen The Washington Post’s editorial touting the virtues of the PPACA is some of the worst writing I’ve seen. Here’s an example of what I’m talking about: You wouldn’t think state leaders would need convincing to accept mountains of federal cash to help people with meager incomes obtain health insurance. But many Republican […] . . . → Read More: Washington Post touting virtues of PPACA . . . → Read More: Washington Post touting virtues of PPACA

Conservative Comedy 8/16/13

It’s Conservative Comedy Friday at the Strident Conservative. As I do every Friday, I bring you some of the best Conservative political satire on the internet, sure to provide a good laugh to begin your weekend. According to a video interview with presidential body man and alleged “friend with benefits,” Reggie Love, Barack Obama left the situation room during the Seal Team Six raid on Bin Laden’s compound, preferring to play Spades. For hours. Despite his reelection claims that he pretty much personally put a high hot one through Bin Laden’s eyehole, Barry actually told Love ” I’m not going to be down there, I can’t watch this entire thing.” Nope, not when there are card games to be played. Check out how the Conservative Comic at Hope n’ Change sees this one. Jodi Miller at Newsbusted covers Obama’s vacation at Martha’s Vineyard, the latest scandal involving Eric Holder, and Obama’s revisionist geography of the Gulf of Mexico. Find out what she has to say about these and other news stories, and be prepared to laugh. Are you ready for Hillary in 2016? … Neither is Zo. He explains how backwards it is that feminists would support a woman who stood by her […] . . . → Read More: Conservative Comedy 8/16/13 . . . → Read More: Conservative Comedy 8/16/13

President Pivot

When MSNBC’s Chuck Todd mocked President Obama for his latest pivot to jobs, the Washington Post’s Greg Sargent took umbrage via Twitter: Genuinely sad to see supposedly neutral news orgs mocking the idea of a “pivot” to jobs. Great Moments in Local Government: Pick Your “Favorite” Example of Thuggery and Incompetence

I’m a strong believer in federalism, but not because I think state and local governments are competent. Politicians and interest groups are a toxic combination in all circumstance. But at least people have considerable ability to cross borders if they want to escape greedy and despotic governments at the state and local level. And when […] . . . → Read More: Great Moments in Local Government: Pick Your “Favorite” Example of Thuggery and Incompetence . . . → Read More: Great Moments in Local Government: Pick Your “Favorite” Example of Thuggery and Incompetence
